The Best Band in the World

it's an ongoing, ever-changing poll to determine which band fans of the livid like most in the world ever. apart from the livid.

it's also a discussion. in the midst of the discussion you throw nominations for the best band in the world in the air, and i catch them. i randomly select two bands and there is a poll, on this thread still (i'm special so i can change and wipe polls), to determine which is best of the two. and then the worse of the two is knocked out and i write down the result somewhere. then we try two more bands.

if you don't know one of the two bands, either listen to some songs and decide or just don't vote, otherwise results are skewed.

so hopefully that makes sense.

we'll start off with a vote which doesn't count, because i have to type something in the box.

nominations please! you may only have one nomination for now, so give it your favourite band. will start taking more suggestions in the latter half of the first tournament.

we'll probably have about a week of nominations depending on how many i get before the first fight.

i'm not sure whether fighting similar bands against each other will work best or if it won't make a difference, so try just anything to beigin with.

------------------------

i nominate incubus. in the unlikely event that you haven't heard any incubus songs, i believe you can stream some from www.enjoyincubus.com

yes good point - it is worth giving a website where you can get info, and a website (if different) where you can hear or download some tracks, so people who don't know them can check them out.
i found that you can hear an alexisonfire track at http://www.equalvision.com/evr/downloads.php - bottom of the mp3s list.

A pretty tough decision for me to make, but I went with NoFx. I guess in my mind, they are only slightly better than alot of bands, which could be worthy of a best band ... thing.

Hard to try and pick my favourite band, because I like so many. But a band that I'm really fond of is Matthew Good (Band).

He is solo now, so he just goes by Matthew Good instead of Matthew Good Band.

My favourite song by Matthew Good is definitely "While we were hunting rabbits". His song "weapon" did very well for him. The band had quite a few hits, as well. Honestly, with the exception of his new album, everything is great. Just download anything if you haven't head his stuff.

I don't know his web adress, but it's probably matthewgood.com. Last time I checked, "while we were hunting rabbits" was available for stream.

some of you are missing the point. there is no point in nominating a band twice. each person has one nomination for now - if your favourite band has already been nominated, nominate another band. this is not a poll yet. i need more nominations before we can get going.

Man if PIS can get this right, how come you fools are all getting this concept wrong!

Maybe there is some hidden concept that allows people with cool acronym's to only understand this thread. Yes, that'd make perfect sense.
