I don't think we really have to worry about that, to be honest.

Ok... no more computer games or movies for you buddy.

I want them to test it on me, that'd be so cool, and what a pick up line!

there's no mention of the dogs developing a taste for human flesh, or becoming evil, so although they're zombies they're not the movie kind.

pretty awesome. that'd get you all the ladies, sin. i'll test it second, as long as you end up ok.

The main downside I can see is eventually "zombies" will be politically incorrect, so we'll have to start talking about "the walking dead" which is a lot more syllables than I care to dish out on a regular basis.

On another note, I just looked up "Zombie" and it's a voodoo thing, imagine that. So all this scientist making zombies stuff is false, some goofy african woman with a rattling stick caused it all.

However, it's also a type of alcoholic beverage, so... yeah, not really sure where I'm going with that, but I'm sure somebody could derive something from what I just said, and if not... no great loss really.

no im sayin that when they try it on the humans, something will go wrong. which might be pretty cool but wouldnt the human have some kind of brain problems? like too many dead brain cells?

That's the purpose of testing a product. The article states the animals suffered no brain damage (from here on it's my opinion, nothing derived from the article), but of course, testing on humans will decide whether it's any different on our species. If there will be problems (I kinda doubt it) then they will suss it out in the preliminary stages and either fix the problem (possible adopt shorter "dead" periods) or scrap the idea if it is so openly unacheivable, or looking to be overly costly to get it to an appropriate condition, if funding doesn't allow for this extra cost then the idea could be scrapped.

My guess for this science would be that it'd be something paramedics and ambulances have access to, they go to a patient who's bleeding heavily, then do the blood suck, salt inject thing to keep them "stable" then rush them to hospital. If this breakthrough does get the green light and we see it come to fruition for the populace it's going to reinforce the necessity for blood donors. Which can only lead to good things (although people are pretty damn selfish by nature so who knows).

one of the other meanings according to dictionary.com is someone who looks or behaves like an automaton. that'll be the most used meaning, i should think.

but, if there's no brain damage etc, it won't apply in this case. since the only other meaning listed there which is anything to do with this is "A corpse revived in this way [A supernatural power or spell that according to voodoo belief can enter into and reanimate a corpse]", zombie doesn't fit at all.

Yes, this is definately a credible article. The same site, has other articles(found at the bottom) called "Goats recruited to help bushfires", "Cookietrail leads to suspect" and my favorite, "The Most Dangerous Day of The Week." Genious I say.
