How come the band was never signed??

Hey, I'm a massive fan from the UK, and after being into the band for 3 years now, I can't understand how they weren't snapped up by a label. Anyone know or have any stories about this??

amen! unless you've got a big rack or a powerful dad...... slim to nothin chances, and thats been proven because not signing an amazing band like the livid proves theres gotta be more to it than beautiful lyrics, amazing sounds, and talented band members

i may be wrong, but i believe they almost got signed by some major label (cant remember wich) just after they released FoF, but then the band fell apart so they lost their deal. then (i think) after ambition within they were approached by a few indie labels, but none of the deals were quite what they wanted.

Some things take more than a lifetime.

I know just comparing them to illScarlett:

ill:
as the shows they played the fan base grew bigger, it ended up that they couldn't play in many venues in Streetsville because of all the fans

The Livid:
Had a steady fan base but hardly grew.

As some of you may know illScarlett has been signed to a record label, and its because of the fans that had a part in doing that. Because there were people in my school who didnt like ill back when they were still small, but now that they are moving up in the industry they now have become "fans".

We the fans of The Livid, ya we promoted them, but of us who promoted, we just didnt have
a. enough people promoting
b. of those we promoted to either didnt give a fuck about the livid or one or two came out to a show or more. Im talking about the fans that could go to most of the shows. Im sure all of you out of towners promted your asses off.

ill is a big thing all over Mississauga with the tours they have done. everybody knows pretty much who they are, if they dont they have a friend who does.

The Livid, its a name that only some know, they haven't done that many shows compared to ill, signed or not. What I mean by that was the final members including Christian.

Like in the past year I have gone to more ill shows than The Livid.

So its some simple facts just on the fan base part. I'd like to continue more but then I'd feel like I'm full out ill when I love both bands equally.

The fan base thing I agree with but everything else I dissagree
Ill Scarlet while ya they got signed by a label these days it's a lot easier to be picked up by a label uif you are of the ska/punk genre. The Livid were very straight forward with there music not just out to gather all the punk trenders. No offense to Ill because I think they have done well for themselves but basically it's just a lot easier for them because of the genre.

I agree with that, maybe that was what I was trying to get at and just could figure it out in my head. hahaha Leave it up to me. But I was also sticking to the fan part... i mean I started listening to both bands at pretty much the same time and you just notice things, about the size of the fans that do go out to the shows.

and what I posted was a personal opinion.

No one should say for a second that because they went to a band's first shows they're any more of a fan than anyone else who is into the music. We all have an equal right to listen to whatever music we want, no matter what the reason. Music is universal, not something for elite cliques.
