Flash Site Sound?

I think the new site is great...the only thing is lacks is some sound....I was thinking about the static in the start to be cool and then when even you go to click on a link some short clip of something could play!

It would be so much better!!!!

i'd say sound like that doesn't really work for a site: people get annoyed if it sort of shocks them. but sound playing in the background wd b cool - an intergrated player wd rock!...

You will have to wait for tremendous to see this

But It does say on the intro page that a Intro is in the making.

That will probally include the beginning of "shaded"

As for sounds on the site.. I agree with Theo, it shocks you

Sound has always bugged if I don't ask for it. You should be given an option to start the bg music or sound, not to stop it.

Yes!
I was thinking about sound when the site went live.
But I'm not any good at sound editing/recording/sampling. I also agree that sounds shock you when you don't want them though.
Oh - and yes, the intro is in the making, and features the start of Shaded.
I think perhaps an integrated player might be good for the site. Any comments? Quiet sound effects for the site?
Or if you want to make us some sounds to put on the site, then feel free!

I don't know about anyone else but I give menu sound effects a thumbs up. A lot more realism in your interaction with a site.

Some sort of mechanical noise, like a whoosh or something, for the moving up and down of the main flash pagey thing would be cool (I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about, although it isn't very original) but yeah, can't wait for the intro, I like intros.

No way, make it like a fire breathing dragon noise so that it fits with the theme of the site.

I was being half serious. Make it something slightly dark and mysterious. Not necessarily a corny dragon sound. But something that sounds sort of sinister. I think it would work really well with the image of the site.:

I am quite good at making/editing sounds for webpages. If you need help contact me at XdaC_Dwarf@charter.net and @hotmail.com I would be more then happy. Right now my bands web page is undercontruction and I plan to set some sounds to that too so if you want to hear what I have then feel free to.

FE.yclept, if you want to go ahead and draft some sound effects for the flash part of this site, then feel free! I have next to no experience in that area, and I don't have the tools either. So if you've got time, try and bust out some fx! Of course, if you make something great then I'll slap em on the site, and you'll have credits and everything.
That proposition goes for everyone else too.

Well, I thought when the content area slides down the screen, some kind of high pitched computer sort of noise, very electronic. With a click as you press the button. And you should sort of hear it click into place once it gets to the bottom. And I thought some kind of buzz or noise when you're hovering over the titles at the bottom of the screen.
And of course loud "fuzz" noise when the screen flashes (which is random).
I don't know.

alright, if u have to put sounds on there, for the 'fuzz' sound, just use noise created by an amp, or un-tuned radio. perhaps for the high-pitched noise, u could play some high notes on an electric guitar/sample it from one of The Livid songs... click noise could literally be a clicking sound, produced by pressing a button/putting a tape into a player (i.e. the 'click' as it closes), or u could get a drum hit or something...
