Let me ask you guys something....why do people bother to ask you a question when they really don't want to know the answer? A friend of mine does it all the time and it drives me nuts.....and why do people call and then watch tv and ignore you...why did you bother calling in the first place...sorry for the little rant!!

That really sucks. I had a moment like that recently. When I moved to Burlington a couple months ago, and when I was grabbing all the stuff in the terminal at the airport, I picked up one of my guitars and it sounded like it was in a million peices. We had 13 bags and boxes to back, so it was hard to make sure everything was packaged well. Anyway, I was so devastated, when I saw my family for the first time I barely smiled, I just said my guitar is broken. I swear I must have looked like a ghost, and it was my fault too, because it wasn't a very good guitar case. Anyway, I was ready to bury it, I couldn't bare to open it or look at it. It sounded like it was in a million peices. So, if anyone was going to take a look, it certainly wasn't gonna be me. My sister opens it in the other room and tells me it's ok. I guess with the lack of room I crammed a wax hand in the guitar case and it melted and shattered. I can still feel the relief. It was my 12 string acoustic, and it was a present from my parents when I moved out. Anyway, that's my story. Hope your bass is still playable Amanda.

I remember when I fried my amp. That was a bad day. Plugged it into something it should not have been plugged into. I still remember the smell... oh the smell. I had it at the repair place in less than 10 minutes. I was pretty upset. It's amazing how atteched we can get to musical instruments. They really are like a member of the family.

True, true. I have broken 2 amps already by playing too loud, but they were little shits worth nothing.

Once I had to sell one of my guitar's because my girlfriend needed money for her car insurance. That was my baby. My first nice guitar I bought for myself. I only got $150 for it. I paid $600 and it was tagged $700, but it had a little chip in it that I found so I got 100 off. But the ones you love are more important than a $600 guitar. If it were a chromeboy, story may have been different...

my friend had an amp with no back, and his dad set a wrench behind it, the magnetism in the amp pulled the wrench toward it, and the wrench stuck, and it demagnitized his amp. he was pretty upset.
oh, and one time i was traveling to seattle, and i brought my bakcpacking guitar with me. the case looks like a shotgun case, so to everyone else it looked like i was carrying a rifle through the airport. i got a lot of strange looks that day, especially from the security gaurds. it was actually kinda scary.

and one time i was coming back from a biking trip in vermont, and i accidentally packed my tent stakes in my carryon bag. when they ex-rayed my bag, they saw these "metal spikes" and tore my bag (and all of it's contents) apart, and confinscated them. that was quite an interesting day.
ok im done.

i came to the conclusion that I couldn't live a week without my bass let alone 3 days.... so i rented one... they are incredibly expensive to rent. The guy on the phone said it would be between $15-$20 a month.... so i found one i liked.... and it turned out to be $95 a month.... i wound up settling for a Fender mexican made standard precision artist (mark hoppus) bass.... it has the body of a jazz bass, but the same sound as a standrad... its nice, tho its not my bass so i have no real attachment for it.... i managed to convince the guy to give it to me for $20 a month rather than the $40 he was asking for.... i cant wait to get my bass back tho... but with two, i can start teaching some friends...

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they do go back to the shire, but the shire's stayed the same the whole time, there's no "Scouring of the shire" and all that jazz.
it gets to a point, where they heve just destroyed the ring, and frodo and sam are laying on the side of Barad Dur, and the screen goes black and you think it's gunna end and you're like "holy shit, they cant end it like that!" but then it keeps going. kinda cool.
