Hah, we're better, drinking age is 18. But then again, so is driving solo.

It's 18 in a some provinces here, but most are 19. You can get your learners permit to drive in Alberta when your 14. My girls little sister
just turned 14, and the thought of her driving is mind boggling.

Heh. Weird. No, they make 'em nice and big here. Yours sorta looks like what it would look like if I rented them from the video store.
I've seen double cases like that, but never a triple case.
I think that's only in Alberta, but yeah, that's insane. I think the rules may be different, though. Perhaps Jorge could fill us in. Or I
could just ask Andrea.

Big cases annoy me because my dvd rack only has single case spacing, same with my cd rack, bugs the Hell out of me.

i remember driving when i was 14 with my parents of course. you still get your learners when your 14 but you get a temporary license when your 16
and you have to keep it for 2 years before you get your final one. it is just more strict rules you cant get caught doing much or else you'll
lose it. real shitty

A lot of the eastern region of Canada speaks both English and French.
And as for words...I've heard different states say out and about and some you can tell the difference, but it's not as great as some
Americans would like you to believe. Another word I've been made fun of saying in the States is Mazda. I say MAzda, where a lot of people say
Mahzda. Does that make sense to you reading it? ha ha
This part I find amusing is the different words we have for things...like Canadians say Chesterfield and Americans say Sofa. Ummm what other ones do
I know. The obvious Pop and Soda. Converter and Remote Control. Washroom and Bathroom. An old friend of mine, when we just met thought that I used
the laundry room to pee (washroom) ha ha that was funny. Any you can think of that I'm missing?
If you have something to say, raise your hand...and put it over your mouth.

all the canadian people i have met pronounce about like "aboat". and actually anything that we americans pronounce as "ow",
they seem to say it with a long "o".
it pisses me off when americans make the assumption that canadians pronouce it "aboot", cuase that's just silly.
oh, and many americans pronounce it vahs. btw, british accents are the tops!

Dez, it's 19 in Canada to got Casino's. And I think you only have to be 18 to buy lottery tickets. That's what I think.
Krista, I think most of the things you pointed out aren't really American/Canadian differences, just plain old differences that everyone has. I
call a remote, clicker, remote, controller, whatever. It all depends. I really only say couch, but my grandparents say Chesterfield. They're the
only ones I know that do that.
Soda and Pop are definitely on the ball, though. No one calls it soda here. It sounds just as dumb as pop sounds to Americans.
And Ian and the other people must be hearing something I'm not, because I just can't hear the "a-boat". Maybe I'm
missing something.
And yeah, it sounds like "aboat", no idea what this "aboot" is all about. Instead of an "ow" sound Canadians
generally pronounce an "oh" (as in you're saying the letter "o" sound. Extra funny because most of the Canadians I knew
here would always go on about being "oat 'n aboat". Funny, but then they made fun of the stuff I say too, like Galah.

i love it, the picture thread has become the real say what you want thread.
yeah, Reivax, you're right, pop sounds just as dumb as soda must there. although i stick with my aboat description... i see that Sin agrees with
me. i too have heard "oat 'n aboat" more than once.

Yeah, I have never in my life heard any Canadian pronounce "about" as "aboat". That's absolutely retarded.
The night's as hot as hell. It's a lousy room in a lousy part of a lousy town - I'm staring at a goddess. She's telling me she
wants me. I'm not going to waste one more minute wondering how I've gotten this lucky. She smells like angels ought to smell, the perfect
woman... the Goddess. Goldie. She says her name is Goldie.
