I have to agree with Reivax, as much as a musician play's covers and adapts someone elses style its FULLY important to have your own sound and
style as well!! Be open to more then one way of playing, to more then one style of music! be creative and have fun!! Reach is real interesting
song, i never got around to trying to learn it! I guess the first thing would be finguring out its unique tuning, as Chris told me it is different
then his regular tunes..

That's interesting, because I was playing it earlier and I think (what I have so far) it sounds pretty mint using the same tuning as he uses for
the songs: sink, watch it die and so on....

I don't know if this is going to work (probably not), but if I can tab out some of the chords for "reach" on here (minus strumming
pattern and such) maybe you can tell me if I am on the right track.
I don't have my guitar with me right now, so I might make a couple mistakes
These are the only parts I have that I am pretty confident about so far. I thought I had most of the rest, but I need to put more effort into it. Tell
me if I am on track with this, or way off.
And this is a really sad, sad tab for watch it die, but I only really think I know some of the intro. The opening chord is really cool and I think you
play it like this...then add some distortion and a few PM's.
Then the cool part (i'll give the the basics - you can figure it out)
-----------------------------------
-----------------------------------
---------11-----------11---------
x-0h9--9----x-0h9--9---0-----
x-0h9--9----x-0h9--9---0----- with alot more oomph...
and later he does the same thing but he goes lower
Ok...hope this looks ok. Tell me if I on the right track or if I suck ass and should never tab again. Later,
CHRIS

i don't think you're on the right lines with that tab for reach, reivax. a couple of chords sounds right, but then the rest doesn't
fit very well.
the first chord of watch it die is very close: he actually plays 547000. your next bit of watch it die is sort of on the right lines. the bit you call
the "cool part" is actually this:

Really? That sucks. It sounded pretty spot on to me. I'll try again later, I guess.
Thanks for posting the "watch it die stuff", I was trying to make it as basic as possible to just give/get the idea of where to play it on
the neck.
Edit: Thanks for being honest, bart. Do you, by any chance, have any suggestions on what to do with "reach"? I don't know, maybe you
have tried to learn it yourself. You seem to have a pretty good ear for this shit.

Ya, I'm pretty sure we are. The same as "watch it die", "sink" etc...
What I'm going to do is tune my acoustic to that and play along and see what that sounds like. It's possible playing along with my
electric is fucking me up. Plus I'm just not really that good at figuring stuff out sometimes. But the picking part has got to sound right?
Edit: So, I realized I messed up a little on the picking part (hard to remember without a guitar with you). I changed that to what I think sounds
right. And also, I tabbed to hit the intro chords with all the open strings, but you don't do it on all of them..just some. I still think it
sounds pretty good just don't strum all the strings.

Okay, so after playing it with my acoustic, I realized that, like bart said, It only sounds a little right. There are a lot of subtle changes that are
made that I find very had to hear. I think I am on the right track, though.

here is my sad attempt at Reach. I know for sure that the second chord isn't correct but I'm so lost for what it could be that I just put
something there to take up space.... I'm not sure about others, but I think I'm close at least. All I have is the opening chords.

so yeah i think you were both right - it's 553000 then 555000 i think.
use ... to write tab on here.
or the
tags, although i haven't actually tested them.

I've always wondered what the notes in brackets meant on tabs, care to enlighten me?

sometimes they mean implicit notes, sometimes they mean notes which are still held from before and sometimes, and how i use them, they are optional
notes.

Ya I believed that they are sustained notes that you've played before.
Bart, what song are those tabs for?

I'm trying to edit my post, but it's not giving me the option right now. Anyway, it sounds pretty good after playing it. Clearly alot
better than some of the other attempts. Since I wasn't playing along to the song it's kind of hard to judge it properly. The xx3330 chord
in the intro didn't sound quite right to me. Either way, brilliant . If you can do that so damn fast what can you do with the song "clear
me"? That's another fav. of mine. I know it's quite easy to play, but I have not tried to learn it yet.
To add to this cool new thread this is my atempt at the intro to release (acoustic). I know the last few notes are off, but I couldn't figure
out what to do with it at the time.
