I think saying you'd fight someone just because they're making foolish/ignorant jokes is just stooping to the level of the person
who's offending you by telling the jokes. I know if someone attempted to curtail my joking with physical violence they would have to be ready
to deal with me coming right back at them.

Usually wouldn't knock the shit out of someone but it depends on the joke and if they knew better... I've heard some shitty jokes before
that have included people close to me.
