I've talked to Ben Kowalowitz (sp) about 3 times, a couple times when he was at Edge 102 back in the day. He's such a nice guy. Billy
Talent kicks ass. What I really like about these guys is how much they embrace being Canadian. And they nurture the music here too... always playing
with smaller bands that have yet to make it. I wanna see if I can convince them to come into my show for an interview. Gotta find that email address
somewhere.
But let's face it, the only reason why Billy Talent's as big as they are is because Ben was able to convince Allan Cross to let him play
his stuff on Edge 102. If the Livid had a song like Test Run, Shaded, or I Could Fall on Edge 102 for a week, they'd go thru the roof!
Anyone remember where they were that night when Christian was on Punkorama?

Unless it's actually funny. Then it's okay.
I saw Billy Talent play a while back with Yellowcard. They put on a pretty kick ass show. Actually, in the middle of their performance, Ben made this
speech about what punk rock really is and at the end he was like "real punk rock is not giving a fuck about what anybody else thinks!" and
then everyone just stuck their middle finger up in the air and started cheering. It was pretty cool. They really know how to get a crowd going.
The night's as hot as hell. It's a lousy room in a lousy part of a lousy town - I'm staring at a goddess. She's telling me she
wants me. I'm not going to waste one more minute wondering how I've gotten this lucky. She smells like angels ought to smell, the perfect
woman... the Goddess. Goldie. She says her name is Goldie.

'billy talent' is a psuedonym. the name of the band is taken from a character in a bruce macdonald film called 'Hard Core
Logo' from 1996. great movie ps. Billy Tallent is the guitarist from the band [appropriately named] 'Hard Core Logo'.
it's a quasi-rockumentary.
if you want to get anything buy the band Billy Talent before 1998, i'd suggest looking under their original band name Pezz, which was around
when i first started going to see indie rock shows.......... when some of you were being born.
Amid the chaos of that day, when all I could hear was the thunder of gunshots, and all I could smell was the violence in the air, I look back and am
amazed that my thoughts were so clear and true, that three words went through my mind endlessly, repeating themselves like a broken record:
you're so cool, you're so cool, you're so cool. And sometimes Clarence asks me what I would have done if he had died, if that bullet
had been two inches more to the left. To this, I always smile, as if I'm not going to satisfy him with a response. But I always do. I tell him
of how I would want to die, but that the anguish and the want of death would fade like the stars at dawn, and that things would be much as they are
now. Perhaps. Except maybe I wouldn't have named our son Elvis.

i'm an idiot.
[also: ben worked at edge102 for 3 or 4 years, that couldn't have hurt his chances of getting his band played. that and the fact that they
worked at being a band for around 10 years]
