emo/punk/post rock seem to fall into a similar catagory so u could have bands like
Death Cab, Nada Surf, Jimmy eat world, mogawi, blink 182, green day, alexisonfire, sum41, the transplants, rancid, sex pistols (unless thats too
classic)

yes: you can nominate any rock/emo/punk bands at all, bar the livid. since the bands in the previous "best band" knockout were from all
genres it's not fair to say they automatically lose this one.
