TONIGHT (nov. 19th)! THE LIVID AND WESTPOINT AT 279

don't forget, the livid and westpoint are finally playing together tonight at club 279 (above the hard rock cafe)

if you're in the Toronto area, come and check it out. westpoint plays at 8, so come out early.

hope to see you all there!

unfortunately, the show is 19+.

Well, my ears are bleeding....and that's exactly how I wanted it.

The show was insane. It really keeps getting better and better. Everyone, including the band, was really into it.

Best song of the night was "part of you". They also played 2 new songs. The first new track they played had crazy guitar work in it. You could tell Chris was putting alot of work into playing it. And for the overly-critical, the second new song has a cool solo in it. It was really nice to see that, actually. Chris's new amp was pretty intense. I'm pretty sure that's a big contributor to why my ears are shot more so than ever.

Krista, it was cool meeting you. Thanks a ton for the beer. Next time I'll buy you a round, so make sure to come out again. And maybe next time we can actually talk a little more, too.

I had a hell of a night. I'm tired as fuck, so good night.

Oh, and instead of writing the setlist down, I added a picture. Just add Reckless at the end for the encore.

when you get to a show and they play them. sounds good reivax.
and reivax, the extra bleeding may be due to the fact that chris can now use both sides of his stereo cab - he used two of the four cones for one amp and two for the other before because of impedence things. (meant he could play clean and distortion at the same time though, like in parts of the chorus of sink, and that was pretty cool.)

I'll have to agree with everything Chris said. It was a really good show and I still couldn't hear right when I woke up this morning.

No prob about the beer Chris. That's really funny that that's how you knew it was me. ha ha Were you impressed that I picked the right beer? ha ha I do my research. I'll definately take you up on the chat and a drink sometime. It was good to meet all the people that I did. Chris, Ish, Al and Jeff. I missed Jeff's set (well all except the last song), but Chris said you guys rocked.

During the Livid set I was up at the stage between Ish and this very interesting older couple. He looked like a cross between Weird Al and a Mad Scientist. During the first part of the set the lady was standing beside me and she kept leaning over to talk to me to tell me how good the Livid are....you think she would have picked up that I knew that considering I was singing along, but whatever. So the last time that the lady leaned over to tell me how good they are...she grabbed my ass. ha ha I didn't know what to do or say. The things I do for the Livid. ha ha

Anyway for all of you that didn't come out you missed a good show.

yeah guys....

this was such a good show... the livid rocked hard... played a long set... even played reckless as an encore. it was very cool.

Chris' amp rocks soo much roll that at some part of the set i realized that i had stopped listening the rest of the band cuz his heavy sound was just sooo good..

the # on the side is the tempo for adam who plays every song to a click track...

ohhh and the new stuff...so good... i was humming them all the way home. yea... chris with a solo.. its about fucking time...

haha

rock on

not exactly a click track - a click track would be a recorded metronome click to play to when recording, and it'll include tempo changes if there are any. but in this case it's what adam sets his metronome to. and the tide isn't that fast as anyone who has the new album knows - it's just got bars of 5/8 as well as 6/8, and so the metronome has to click for 8th notes rather than dotted 4ths (as it would usually for a 6/8 song).

That set totally blew me away. Technically everything sounded damn near perfect, and there was just such an amazing stage presence. The energy was totally awesome. I was very into "My Curse", the new song. That new amp is killer, too. I want one. The worst part of the set was when I had to leave early to catch a train home. Good job guys.

I also really enjoyed the Westpoint set. Like The Livid, they played a couple new songs, and did some really cool stuff with some of the older ones.

Overall an excellent musical evening. I give it my seal of approval.
