*Please Take A Few Mins To Do This*
Hey,
Westpoint just did some pre-production tracks (really rough) to try and get a better feel of our songs before we go into the studio in a week. we
demoed 4 of the songs that will appear on the record.
we're looking for opinions of them and are trying to get a lot of people hearing them and telling us their favourites and least favourites.
please take 15 minutes to listen to all 4 songs, then please vote in the polls at the bottom of the page.
feel free to post any additional thoughts you have in this thread.
thank you, appreciated.

Alright, I made my votes.
Out of the 4 songs that are on there, my favourite is "For the last time". I've always enjoyed that song alot. "somewhere in
between" is a very good song, as well. It definitely shows the ability the singer has. And it's quite catchy.
"when I'm with you" is definitely the least favourite for me. Because I know you want honesty here, I'll just say I'm
not a big fan of it. The song never once grabs me.
The clapping section up until the chorus isn't too bad, actually, now that I listen to it again.

NOTE - this is pretty much my only experience with westpoint's music, and i didn't really pay much attention to the lyrics. obviously i
won't make any comments about mixing etc, since it is all pre-production stuff. so anyway, here goes:
i didn't really like when i'm with you(hooooooo) at all, i'm afraid. just found it quite irritating.
for the first time seemed like a decent track, little bit rockier, little more consistent.
somewhere in between was good, my favourite the first time through. a catchy, pleasing song.
searching for autumn was also pretty good, although i found it to be quite repetitive without really going that far. nice little guitar solo,
though.
overall, i'd say that somewhere in between is my most favourite track, with for the last time just a bit behind.
in fairness, i did only listen to these tracks once through each and, like most music, i would imagine that it takes a few plays to really get into
them.

haha first you called it from the first time and then you called it from the last time
i'd say for the first time was my favorite, with searching for autumn behind it. then somewhere in between and last is when i'm with
you.
How do you communicate those emotions that are so intense that no physical expression or series of words can even scratch the surface?

For the last time is worth keeping
I really love that tuning, pretty much any song that has a hook intro like that

ok, well having listened to them all twice, i like For the Last Time the most, closely followed by Searching For Autumn, and then Somewhere in
Between, and i like When I'm With you the least.
I guess my reasoning is that of all the westpoint songs, i like the rockier, yet still catchy songs the best, like Searching for Autumn, and the songs
from the 2003 demo, and of course Drown Sara, and All You've Got. now it could be the production, but the new songs seem to lack the power that
the older songs had.
i really dont like all the guitar reverb in Searching for Autumn, or the vocal reverb in For the Last Time, because it sort of lightens up the
songs.
And in For the Last Time, the first distorted guitar part seems very weak, and the chorus does too.
not really a fan of When Im With you. it has a nice countryish vibe, but its not really my style.
and again Somewhere in Between is just a little to soft for me.
so that's my opinion

Thanks for the input people, we appreciate it.
Again, they're just rough cuts so don't worry to much about production issues like certain parts being too reverby or too quiet etc.
Thanks for the thoughts on the songs.
