Oh for the love of god.... I got my hands on an advance copy of Acceptance's new album phantoms. I plead with everyone who reads this to check
out their Sampler at their site www.acceptancerock.com it's one of the best albums I have!
And yes sunset black are way overlooked, hopefully their new disc grabs some major label attention!

not really my thing, but they clearly have talent. although "take cover" its quite a good song.
im too lazy to post this in annother thread, so excuse the off-topic...ness.
Which album should i get by Silverchair? my favorite song that i've heard by them is Emotion Sickness. any suggestions on which would be the
best for me?

That's a tough one, Ian. I would say go for "diorama" mostly because it's my all time fav. by them. Though "neon
ballroom" is a fantastic album, and "emotion sickness" and "steam will rise" are good enough to make the album a 10.
"frogstomp" is classic, but it's far different from the later stuff they have done.

I personally love Frogstomp, but then Isreal Son is my favourite Silverchair song.
Actually, if you don't already have it, get Silverchair - The Best of Vol. 1.

well i dont know, sin. i think if i like whatever album i get enough, i might get some of the other ones too, and getting a best of tends to ruin the
effect of the cd, because it raises your expectations.
im thinking of going with neon ballroom, because it has emotion sickness, and i also really like Anthem of the year 2000 and ana's song. however
my favorite cd store only has Diorama, so i might go with that instead.

Every Silverchair album offers something different.
Frogstomp and Freakshow are both pretty grunge influenced.
Neon Ballroom can be seen as a transition album. I feel it is their darkest album as Daniel, the main singer/songwriter, was in the grips of
depression while writing the disc.
Diorama is by far the best release by Silverchair in my opinion. Many who are not used to such grandoise arrangements might not dig the album.
However, if you enjoy music that is influenced by The Beatles and Brian Wilson with huge orchastration, you'll love this disc.

Since you mentioned the chili peppers, I just want to say that I'm sitting here with the Anthony Keidis biography with about 20 pages left to
go. It's an awesome read, especially if you're a fan of the band. I read most of the 465 pages in 2 days...and I don't read.

And since you mentioned the chili's, John Frusciante appears on the new mars volta album, frances the mute, which is now one of my favorite
albums ever. go check it out... WARNING, this album is not for everyone, it is experimental rock, and very bizzare and out there. listen to it a bit
before you decide that you like it or not. - http://www.themarsvolta.com/frances.html

I'd say it's more progressive than experimental. Experimental is stuff like John Cage.
