This song was released i beleive around the time fear of fading album came out. Sixteenth i know of, i've been following this band since they released there first demo tape. The change in them and to see them always getting better blows me away. First birthday was a song i heard them play live at a few of there shows, then all of a sudden they stopped.

it turns out that that song was written just before the first lineup disbanded. it was never recorded and i guess chris never taught it to the new crew. maybe one day we'll get a disc full of songs which should have been b-sides to singles.

This may have been answered already, but wasn't there a song called "to you". What became of that?

All I remember of To You was it was Chris's favourite song for a long time (at least according to his bio).

yeah first bday was the last song that the original band ever wrote. it was awesome... i loved it... and it was only ever played live once which was the last show that we played before we all went our own ways... great song... great meaning... i've been trying to convince chris to at least record an accoustic version of it. but thus far... its a no go...

wasn't To You that song that chris said was too personal, and so he wouldn't want to record it, or play it at a show?

The reason First Birthday will never be recorded is because I took the chord progression, sped it up, wrote new lyrics, and called it Test Run.

I suppose To You can make an appearance on the next record. It's not really up to date with our style though.... it's along the lines of songs like Release and Broke And Crossed.
