I'm not lying, I just walked in the door right now after watching it. I thought it was quite amazing. I wasn't expecting the greatest,
because of quite a few negative responses I've heard around the internet. After this, it's finally been made clear in my mind that no one
will ever be pleased about anything on the internet. You'll always hear bad reviews about how lame a movie is, no matter how sweet it really is.
The visuals were obviously breathtaking, and I wish I had read the comic before so I could tell how true they stayed to the original. Either way, you
can definitely tell how it was a comic from the way it was shot and the constant narrative. I was a little sceptical at first, as I wasn't
entirely too sure of what was going on, but it all came around and made sense to me about halfway through.
I don't want to say anything in detail, 'cause I don't want to ruin anything for anyone that still wants to see it, but I definitely
enjoyed it and will recommend anyone to see it. One thing, though. I've had a crush on Carla Gugino for the longest time, and I was quite amazed
at her first scene in the movie.

haha lol chris.
yeah, i thought it was fucking badass. way more hardcore than i thought it would be. definately not for lightweights.
"i took away his weapons... both of them"
i thought it was a great movie. incredably stylized. im still trying to figure out which scene Tarentino directed. it was all so intense that im not
quite sure.

I haven't heard anything negative about the movie. I saw it the day after it came out. I also saw a special on the movie and the making of on G4
like half an hour before I went to go see the movie. They showed a couple of scenes and faded the comic in over it and the posses and look of the
characters was in every way identical to the comic.
I heard Tarentino co-directed on a few different scenes. My guess would be the action stuff. Like the scene where the cops come after Marv at the
first of his story.

Oddly enough, most everything I've read hasn't been very great. Just sorta average is basically what I've been reading here and
there since it came out.

I read an article in some magazine saying that he only directed 1 scene, but that "they're not telling which."

ok, i got it, tarentino directed the scene where clive owen is talking to jackie boy, and the cop pulls them over. that was a great scene.
anyone know the significance of the 1st scene? the one with josh hartnet (however it's spelled)

If it was basically to show that the girl from Gilmore Girls was going to get wacked at the end, I understand that, but I guess I assumed there is
more to it than that.

graphic novel. how do they do it?

well they shot the whole thing in black and white, and then digitally added all of the color.
what i heard was that that first scene was set up as a test, to show the writer what the film would look like, to try to get him to commit to the
film. seems like a pretty elaborate scene to film before you even know if you can make the movie. im still not quite sure that it belongs in the
movie, but whatever.

Frank Miller had ppl come to him times before about making a movie out of sin city but they always wanted to change things and such. lotsa comics
never really stay true to the comic and if he was going to do a movie of sin city, it had to be true to the comic. It wouldn't surprise me to
hear that the first scene was shot to get him to do the movie. And being that its so well done they probably added it just because it'd be a
waste of film not to. There was no writer for the movie and there was no storyboard guy because Frank Miller had already completed those two tasks
with the comic itself. What very few changes had to be made for whatever reason were approved of or changed by Miller himself.
