Recommened music for Livid fans?

What bands and/or songs would you recommend to other fans of The Livid looking for a fix? Obviously projects that the band members are working on could do it (Faithdown), but I'm trying to get a list going of other acts as well. Mention anything, including choices which may seem too obvious...you never know what others are overlooking! Similar styles, lyrics, whatever, I'm trying to create a thread with the theme

If you enjoy The Livid's music, you may also enjoy...

I personally would classify The Livid as a kind of emo-rock band. They have a rock sound, but the lyrics are usually pretty emo, so here are my picks.

Iconoclast - an indie band from Ottawa, free songs on their site http://www.iconoclast-band.com/ give them a try! I'd say start with "I Am" and "See-through".

Interpol - try starting with "Public Pervert"

Depeche Mode - more dance/electronica but similar themes

Fall Out Boy - more pop-punk but again...similar emo themes, try "Calm Before The Storm"

The Alkaline Trio - start with "Maybe I'll Catch Fire", lyrically strong

Celebrity - haunting melodies, softer than The Livid but similar themes, info and links to tracks at www.iamcelebrity.com

we've had quite a few of these threads, but i'm too lazy to find them.

so yeah gotta say i'm really not a fan of any of those bands... although Alkaline Trio isn't that bad.

I would have to go with Incubus cause they are amazing and have a similar sound in some of their songs. try "Pardon Me", if you havent heard it.

lets see, Finger Eleven: http://www.fingereleven.com/audio/
on that page i think "Bones and Joints" (Bottom right corner) is the best song.

First Time Fallen is quite good too: http://www.firsttimefallen.com/ "Your Vietnam" is a great song.

Of course Westpoint: http://www.myspace.com/westpoint

Lostprophets - try "Shinobi vs Dragonninja"

Muse although they dont sound quite as much like the Livid, but they are all unbelievably talented musicians. check out "Hysteria, and Our Time Is Running Out"

yeah, just a random smattering...

Some things take more than a lifetime.

Heh, "Pardon Me" is my favourite Incubus song, great choice.

Good pick for Finger Eleven as well, personally I think their best song is "Stay And Drown", but they're an awesome band, so pretty much all their songs are great.

There's another band that I'm kicking myself for not mentioning. The thing is...they broke up and their site is down. The band is Diamond Back from Ottawa, their only release was an EP titled "Submission" which had three songs on it "Submission", "White Stains" and my personal favourite "Mortar". Maybe one of the other sites still has the mp3's available, if not just ask me, I can probably send them to anyone interested.
