i'm going to sleep for 2 hours a day for the next month, and more if it's as good as i think it will be.
read about it here and see my blog of the experience

I've always wanted to try this, since I dont sleep well either. Let me know how it goes, maybe I'll do it next year while in college
How do you communicate those emotions that are so intense that no physical expression or series of words can even scratch the surface?

I'm going to have to wait a bit to try this out - I have to get a job and I don't think they'll look kindly on me passing out every
4 hours.
When i first heard about it, i was actually grinning to myself. just because it sounds so awesome.
the only problem i can see with the schedule is the possible health risks. whilst REM is the most essential stage of the sleep cycle (subject someone
to sleep deprivation and the brain will force them into REM almost immediately upon their eventual chance to sleep), this pattern doesn't cater
for the other stages, and whilst they aren't as essential, i'd say that the body will probably not function at its best without them.
i've heard a lot of people who tried this (including some of the famous geezers) recommended having a long (up to 24 hours) sleep every 6 weeks
or so.
i'm also not too sure about the effects of physical exercise when utilising this pattern, none of the reports i've read even mentioned
that they did any sport. however, since you're missing out on the regenerative periods of the sleep cycle, i'd say going for 20 mile runs
every day probably isn't a good idea.

that sounds quite interesting.
best of luck with it.
just don't die.
if you do, i'll HAVE to hang out with your brother when I visit the uk, and that would just be too much fun.
you should stick around to make things bland and somewhat uninteresting.
p.s; if it does kill you, i'm taking your guitars and selling them on e-bay.\
p.p.s; but seriously, good luck.
and...you're a blogger now?
what's next? myspace? har har.
you won't let me down...

i despise myspace. it appears to be good for bands, though.
i have an account on bebo since it discourages and makes it difficult (rightly so) to link your profile with people you don't actually know and
makes it easy to link with people you went/go to school with. there's nothing wrong with a blog at all, as long as there's a point to it
other than attention seeking.

i could have set out to prove beyond reasonable doubt that ugliness is directly proportional to tiredness. i'm imagining a graph with traces for
ugliness and tiredness against time, and then a scatter of ugliness against tiredness. could write my dissertation on it. just gotta figure out a way
to bring electronics into it.

i really want to do it. but i don't want to do it alone.
i imagine it gets pretty crazy at times, and it'd be lovely if at least someone else is feeling suicidal with you (for the first couple weeks,
anyway) and then you can both keep each other motivated not to give it up.
but i still might do it. just not until i'm healthy again, which in my case, sounds like a stretch, but i'm sure it'll happen!
good try though, bart. we're all very proud of you.
i enjoyed the very scarce but entertaining msn conversations during this time.
you won't let me down...

i agree - if someone was trying this sleeping pattern with me i think it would have been much, much easier. just having a person to talk to tends to
keep me awake.

Move to Red Deer, Alberta in august and we can do it together. We'll find all sorts of ways to keep each other awake

oh whore-hay...that's definitely something you'd say.
red deer? what happened to slavelake?
yeah, i'd imagine it's easier with someone else.
plus, if you start to feel like quitting, the other person can call you a twat/pansy and you'll want to prove him wrong so you'll stay on
it, and end up turning it into a battle of the fittest.
man,i really want to do it now.
