Ya, I can't think of any band like them, its a completly unique style. I think I read somewhere on the site or at mp3.com that they are
"High-energy alternitive". Whatever that means, there are to many styles to keep track of. But whatever they are, they just rock periode,
one of my favorite bands for sure.

I agree with Kara.

You can definantly hear different influences in The Livid's music, such as Incubus etc, but I do agree with the people who said you can't
really say they're copying anyone.

Blues is just the default ID3v1 genre. If you don't set it to off, there is no "none" option under genre.

I only heard the 3 songs at mp3.com, so I can't say yet...
but I too thought their sound was quite interesting...it's kinda alternative with a "pop appeal"...it's polished, gauged,
commercial, and still fresh...greaaat stuff!

yeah, but if they weren't sure on where to categorize them...don't you think it would make sense to put them into a rock category over
blues?
...not that it's really a big deal

I don't think it's a matter of knowing what to categorize them as. It's more about being lazy and not choosing a category.

If I had to pick a category it would be
1. alternative
or
2. pop/rock

actually i tnk the new sound is perhaps just the slightest bit more mainstream (but only very marginally - perhaps that makes it more
'pop'?). the sound is still very unique though.

I have heard only two songs of there "new stuff" and that is sink and shaded. They seem to sound alot like the old stuff, Shaded is
definetly the style of Fear of Fading, Sink I don't think has quite the same edge though. I loved the transition from King of the Castle to Fear
of Fading. I guess I am wondering whether you guys consider Fear of Fading the new stuff or what they are making right now.

i don't think it makes it "pop" for that reason...as pop seems to
be defined as whatever works at the moment (i heard people say that rap the new pop)
but me, when i used the term "pop appeal", i mean it's alternative music that's "accessible"...it's
something which is easily playable on the radio, and that you can sing along to...and accessible music can still be inventive, edgy, lyrically savvy,
unpredictable, and so on...
think of some Prince's songs like "Purple Rain" or "Kiss"; Michael Jackson's "Don't Stop Till You Get
Enough"; Creed "Arms Wide Open"; Nirvana's "Come as you are"; etc etc....they're all great pop/alternative
songs that are accessible yet complex at the same time..

You need to listen to the two older albums if thats what you think. The first two albums are pretty different to the new stuff, and theyre fucking
amazing. Just get their old stuff, you actually can't go wrong.

There are only two albums, FewLeh. KotC, then FoF.
I think high-energy alternative is a great way to describe The Livid's music. And no, I didn't write that bio, before you ask if I'm
complimenting myself
I think that one was on mp3.com. In fact, it still is, and it's a bit out of date. I'll get that updated...
