WARNING: GEAR QUESTION

hey, this is for anyone who can answer this...

anyone know which boss phaser chris uses? probably the ph-2 or 3, but i'd like to know for certain...reason being i'm in the market for a new phaser, and i'm trying to decide which one to get...i love that sound he gets on the "egzit" intro.

that effect in the intro to egzit is not a normal phaser... its a studio effect that was decided on with the band and the producer... live he does use a boss phaser.. i don't know which but i remember knowing that is is quite old and i don't believe that it sells anymore.... maybe chris could let you know another phaser that would be best... so i guess what i am trying to say is that if you have not seen the livid live or are simply trying to find the sound that they used on the Cd you won't find it....

sorry...

Use any boss phaser, a little reverb and some quick hands and you'll come close. 99.9% of the new shit we're recording will be pulled off by FX we use at our live shows. Production can only do so much. Rack stuff is over rated in my humble opinion. This opinion does come from a guy who has spent the last 8 years running a guitar store though. The fate of the song is truelly in the composers hands.

It's a slow flanger on the intro of egzit, with a bit of distortion and a ton of reverb. The phaser I use is called a Boss PH-1. They don't make it anymore. I use that live for the slap guitar bit in Watch It Die.
