yeah you can do all the usual bbcode and smilies, just gotta remember how to do it. you can even
quotation:quote stuff
.
that's why i've changed the note to "If you need all the fancy buttons, you'll need to click the reply button" rather
than "plain text only", which was a lie.
also, a bit off topic, but i only discovered yesterday to my surprise that you can do any colour you want, not just the ones on the list. that is, if
you know how hex colour codes work. use [ color=#RRGGBB]text here[/ color] without the space, where RRGGBB is like FF0000 for red, 00FF00 for green,
0000FF for green. hex numbers go from 00 up to 99, then to A0 up to AA, then B0, all the way up to FF. kinda hard to explain.
why am i saying all this? so you can do those fancy fades you see on other forums sometimes in signatures.

yeah, it's designed that way. and yes, i could change it to "colour" rather than "color", but that would be wrong in the
canadian dictionary. so i won't do it.

I'm just lost as to all that AA FF 00 thing...too many letters, too many zeros..
I don't wanna look like an idiot so I wanna learn how to use 'em.
Yeahh..I know you 2 are brothers, that's why I said nevermind lol

Ah, I see said the blind man to the deaf dog, sitting at the corner of the round table.
Well.
For colours, there are two ways to do it.
You can take a chance with [ colour=purple] purple stuff! [/ colour] (without spaces of course) and see if HTML recognises the word you've
written (do a preview if you're in the reply page).
If you want a particular shade though, like if you're trying to make a fade, you can use a hex code, like [ colour=#92a3bf] text!! [/
colour].
Here's how hex codes work.
There are always six numbers, and when I say numbers I mean numbers in hexidecimal. Hexidecimal is another way of counting. Instead of going from 0 to
9, then ticking over to 10, up to 99 then 100, in hexidecimal you go from 0 up to 9, then on to A, B, C, D, E and F. Then it ticks over to 10. then
all the way to 9F, and on to A0. Then all the way up to FF. It's kind of hard to get your head around at first.
Hex colour codes use three two digit hex numbers, one each for red, green and blue. #000000 is black, because there is no red, no green and no blue.
#FF0000 is red, because red is full up (FF is the highest number in hex number codes), and there's no green or blue. #00FF00 is green coz green
is full up. #8E8E8E is grey, because there are equal amounts of red, green and blue (8E of each, 8E in normal numbers = 142). Tell me an area to
explain fuller if you don't get it.
So let's say i want to write in a colour which has plenty of green, a bit of blue and a fair whack of red. it goes RRGGBB, so a high number for
green gives us #xxB9xx. i pickec B9 for no particular reason - it's just fairly high. A bit of blue: #xxB935. A fair whack of red: #6DB935. I
have no idea what this is gonna look like. let's try it: here it is. Eww.

Ahhh..it worked !
I am eternally gratefull..I promise I'll give the Hex codes a try later on...but for now I'm sticking to the basics..
I'm computer illiterate haha
Thanks again Bart.
