So is the asteroid actually going to hit, and the chances of everyone dying is one in 909,000, or are the chances of the asteroid hitting one in 909,000?

I was on holiday in Australia when there was the best view and I got to see through a telescope, it was wicked! I also could see it with my naked eyes, it looked like a bigger, orange star though!
