MP3.COM

I don't know if anyone else knows, but I'm sure The Livid knows about this...Today I recieved an email stating that CNET Networks, Inc. bought out the rights to mp3.com, and that "CNET Networks, Inc. plans to introduce a new MP3 music service in the near future." Later on, it states that "On behalf of all of us at MP3.com we thank you for your patronage and continued support." So, on December 2, 2003, mp3.com will officially change to a CNET website. I know no one has any answers for this (unless you're a big guy in CNET) but does this mean the free downloading and streaming of mp3's at this domain is over? And just so that this thread isn't totally fuckin boring, if you were CNET, what would YOU do with mp3.com? I thought it was run pretty well, but obviously the expenses were just too great for mp3.com, inc to stay in business...

There's actually another company who want to start something almost the same as MP3.com, which will be ready for "the first quarter of 2004". This one's called audiostreet.net. We've signed up for more info, and chances are you'll be able to download a taster track from the new album when both things are ready.

its kinda frustrating to not have mp3.com.... i got so used to finding bands and their music there.... i spent a lot of time, looking around that site for bands, it was a great oppurtunity to find new bands..... now im too lazy to find another site...... so i havent listened to anything new for a few months..... i dont really like the radio around here either....

kazaa usually changes, they make new version's of kazz's that take up less sapce and stuff, but ther's always the programs that are exactly like kazaa if you dont like chnage like groakster, i think that' show you spell it, I think it's faster, and I noticed wen you download songs from kazaa latley, hey ahave a wierd swooshing thing in the mddle, of most of them =/ tis why I will miss mp3.com =(

bands often do that so that you can opnly hear part of the song ... and nobody wants to burn a cd with that song on it so they hope people will go out and buy the cd
this only ever lasts for a few weeks until some people buy the cd and then put it on kazaa

How do you communicate those emotions that are so intense that no physical expression or series of words can even scratch the surface?
