Caught

So apparently they caught Saddam...

How about that. I guess that vindicates George W. Bush and demonstrates that he was right all along. I knew he was.

i was told about that, so i looked it up in the papers online... i find it interesting that the national post has a picture of saddam just after being taken into custody with a beard and a scar over his left eye, whereas the star has a shaved picture with a scar over his right eye, from just after being taken into custody.....

i don't really belive that its over due to the capture of saddam, there are so many things left unfinished....

I hate to be a pessimist but it's not going to end. There are other a$$holes like him the world that now will step up to the plate.

And one question for Bush... you found the man you were looking for, where are the weapons of mass destruction? Dumb F*ck!

Regarding the swapping sides scar, pictures are often flipped sideways (reversed) to make them fit better on the page.

no, george bush would be vindicated if he had found any "weapons of mass destruction", which was what the whole war was about. or has everyone forgotten?

now that i've read shiftyroach's post, i see he's already said that. well played.

in regards to the "other a$$holes" (never used that one as an expression of abuse before, not quite sure how it's pronounced), i think that Bush is definitely first in line. oh yeah, where's osama these days?

I personally have nothing but bad things to say about Bush.
I'm actually dissapointed that Saddam was finally caught from hiding in his little hole.

wow that is one of the first things i have ever disagreed with dez about(other then justin timberlink) i am glad they finally caught him and altho i don't support bush i am glad he has him now

it suprised me that they did catch him and also that he would live in a hole like that.....i thought he would have been too proud

the one thing i wonder is why he won't just have taken his own life...he had a pistol and there were 60 american soldeirs if i were him i would rather be dead then go thro what he is gonna be put through

HAHAHHA..
So that was the CIA at my house last night?....
They just all stormed into my basement and some man said:

Man: "Who you callin' ugly biiiiiiiiiiitch?"
Dez: "Uh...who are you?"
Man: "We KNOW everything"
Dez: "What?...."
Man: "Trying to say bad things about our homey Bush eh?"
Dez: "Actually yeah, I just have so many bad things to say about him that I doubt I'd be able to put them all into a few sentences,or...pages"
Man: "That's it...you're going dowwwwwwwn"
Dez" "Bring it!"

(*Dez's mom comes downstairs*)
Mom: "WHAT THE HELL IS ALL THIS NONSENSE!"
CIA men: "Sorry miss..."
Dez: "Yaw..."
Mom: "OUT!!! GET OUT..NOW! No one comes into my house as a shit disturber for nothing..."
CIA: "Okay, sorry about the inconvenience, please...don't hurt us"

*And so the CIA left and we all lived happily ever after*

Lord...I have too much time in my hands haha..
i just made up all that make-believe conversation like right now...

We Finally Got Our Frankenstein... and He Was In a Spider Hole! -- by Michael Moore

Thank God Saddam is finally back in American hands! He must have really missed us. Man, he sure looked bad! But, at least he got a free dental exam today. That’s something most Americans can’t get.

America used to like Saddam. We LOVED Saddam. We funded him. We armed him. We helped him gas Iranian troops.
But then he screwed up. He invaded the dictatorship of Kuwait and, in doing so, did the worst thing imaginable -- he threatened an even BETTER friend of ours: the dictatorship of Saudi Arabia, and its vast oil reserves. The Bushes and the Saudi royal family were and are close business partners, and Saddam, back in 1990, committed a royal blunder by getting a little too close to their wealthy holdings. Things went downhill for Saddam from there
.
But it wasn’t always that way. Saddam was our good friend and ally. We supported his regime. It wasn’t the first time we had helped a murderer. We liked playing Dr. Frankenstein. We created a lot of monsters -- the Shah of Iran, Somoza of Nicaragua, Pinochet of Chile -- and then we expressed ignorance or shock when they ran amok and massacred people. We liked Saddam because he was willing to fight the Ayatollah. So we made sure that he got billions of dollars to purchase weapons. Weapons of mass destruction. That’s right, he had them. We should know -- we gave them to him!

We allowed and encouraged American corporations to do business with Saddam in the 1980s. That’s how he got chemical and biological agents so he could use them in chemical and biological weapons. Here’s the list of some of the stuff we sent him (according to a 1994 U.S. Senate report):
* Bacillus Anthracis, cause of anthrax.
* Clostridium Botulinum, a source of botulinum toxin.
* Histoplasma Capsulatam, cause of a disease attacking lungs, brain, spinal cord, and heart.
* Brucella Melitensis, a bacteria that can damage major organs.
* Clostridium Perfringens, a highly toxic bacteria causing systemic illness.
* Clostridium tetani, a highly toxigenic substance.
And here are some of the American corporations who helped to prop Saddam up by doing business with him: AT&T, Bechtel, Caterpillar, Dow Chemical, Dupont, Kodak, Hewlett-Packard, and IBM (for a full list of companies and descriptions of how they helped Saddam, click here. )

We were so cozy with dear old Saddam that we decided to feed him satellite images so he could locate where the Iranian troops were. We pretty much knew how he would use the information, and sure enough, as soon as we sent him the spy photos, he gassed those troops. And we kept quiet. Because he was our friend, and the Iranians were the "enemy." A year after he first gassed the Iranians, we reestablished full diplomatic relations with him!

Later he gassed his own people, the Kurds. You would think that would force us to disassociate ourselves from him. Congress tried to impose economic sanctions on Saddam, but the Reagan White House quickly rejected that idea -- they wouldn’t let anything derail their good buddy Saddam. We had a virtual love fest with this Frankenstein whom we (in part) created.

And, just like the mythical Frankenstein, Saddam eventually spun out of control. He would no longer do what he was told by his master. Saddam had to be caught. And now that he has been brought back from the wilderness, perhaps he will have something to say about his creators. Maybe we can learn something... interesting. Maybe Don Rumsfeld could smile and shake Saddam’s hand again. Just like he did when he went to see him in 1983 (click here to see the photo).

Maybe we never would have been in the situation we’re in if Rumsfeld, Bush, Sr., and company hadn’t been so excited back in the 80s about their friendly monster in the desert.
Meanwhile, anybody know where the guy is who killed 3,000 people on 9/11? Our other Frankenstein?? Maybe he’s in a mouse hole.
So many of our little monsters, so little time before the next election.

Stay strong, Democratic candidates. Quit sounding like a bunch of wusses. These *******s sent us to war on a lie, the killing will not stop, the Arab world hates us with a passion, and we will pay for this out of our pockets for years to come. Nothing that happened today (or in the past 9 months) has made us ONE BIT safer in our post-9/11 world. Saddam was never a threat to our national security.

Only our desire to play Dr. Frankenstein dooms us all.

Yours,
Michael Moore

He truly is a genious. I definately look up to the man. But I find it extremely odd how they find Saddam Hussein so close to the presidential elections. It wouldn't surprise me if they find Osama soon too, and possibly some "weapons of mass destruction". This would definately raise the Bush Approval Rating. So w/o those "captures" he'll have to scam his way into presidency again.

one last show.

It'd be great if this thing wasn't based on a huge lie in the first place.

With that said, I'm glad Saddam's gone. He was a terrible man in many many ways and the world is a better place without him. However, you still need a legitimate reason to invade a country, which they didn't have.

I'm going to burn a Dubya effigy.

i read an article about the man that highlighted two things: he wasn't a proud man and he wasn't comfortable with the "royal" life. so it doesn't surprise me at all.

User quotes from another site..

Both these quotes I got from 2 different users on a thread from the other site I'm a part of..
we were discussing once again Saddam Hussein and how this is once again (in my opinion) a publicity stunt for the states...
I thought that both these users had quite an intelligent opinion, and...this is something I hadnt thought about, but yeah..palm trees have no fruits during the winter..
Once again...enjoy, and please DO discuss.

quotation:
Posted by 'Arabian Honey' tonight @ MMTO

"i cant believe i just noticed this
if you LOOK at the PALM TREES of the place where saddam was captured
THERE ARE DATES ON THE PALM TREEES
which is IMPOSSIBLE
since its winter in iraq and during winter, we all know that there are NO dates on palm trees
me and you have been in iraq and you can probably agree with me on that, that there are no dates on a palm tree when its cold!!!!
what does this tell us maybe?
saddam was caught a LONG time ago
but was only revealed NOW
why?
this is the perfect time!
elections! christmas! etc!!!"

and the next one..

quotation:
Posted by 'Raz' shortly after Suha's post @ MMTO

"i’m tellin u .. americans have a scheme its not as simple as it all seems .. and the xmas thingy u mentioned yes my freinds and i talked about this .. what better for americans to see that the purpose of iraq was to capture an devil dictator and now that they did for the short term affect the american ppl will feel good that their country did what they said they were gonna do .. so psychologicaly it will have a good impact hence spend spend spend ... all this fits in "

acctualy, i beleive that they beleive that he wasn't living in that hole, but in a shack above it with some other people, and when they saw (whoever it was who found him) coming, they hid him un that hole, put a piece of styrofoam over it, and then covered it with a rug and fled. the only reason that they found him, was that the ground around the rug looked "unusual", and so they lifted the rug, and there he was!
it's not anything official, but my dad and i were talking about it, and that is what he said.
