It's Official, the Human Race is Going to Hell!
Pop Stars To Release "Nevermind" Tribute Album
February 08, 2004
By Charles Franklin, Associated Press Music Writer
Los Angeles, California - Some of the hottest pop stars in the USA will soon be appearing on a tribute album for Nirvana's
"Nevermind." The album was originally released in 1993 and is now considered by many to be a classic. It was recently named by Rolling
Stone magazine as the #10 greatest album of all time.
The cover album will have all the tracks in the same order that they appear on the original release but will feature all new cover art, an executive
confirmed earlier today. Stars contributing to the project include Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Hilary Duff, and Justin Timberlake.
With the announcement of this album, some have speculated that Spears's recent 5 AM Las Vegas wedding was a publicity stunt to promote the
upcoming tribute album. Music fan Charles Humphrey observed, "Obviously, there's a lot of thematic similarity between Nevermind and Ms.
Spears's life over the past few years and weeks, especially. Her appearance on the CD had to be a no brainer." The single will not have a
video release so as to not create a conflict with the video for the second single from "In The Zone," "Toxic," in which Spears
appears almost nude, which was released on Tuesday.
Up and coming star Hilary Duff covers the track "Lounge Act." Duff explained, "I'm sure my fans will be surprised by my take
on this song considering the music I've made previously. In fact, I didn't know exactly how to approach the song for some time. Then one
afternoon I thought of Kurt and the track was finished before I went home that night.
Shakira will handle one of the most popular tracks from the CD, "Lithium." "If you compare the two songs, I think you'll see a
lot of similarity between this one ["Lithium"] and "Whenever, Wherever," my first big hit in the USA," Shakira said.
Justin Timberlake had the formidable task of tackling the closing track, "Something in the Way,". Asked if he was apprehensive about doing
the cover, Timberlake responded with an emphatic "No." Timberlake paused and then added, "And who's kidding who, after my
relationship with Britney Spears, I know a lot more about things being 'in the way' than most people."
Late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain's widow Courtney Love has commented to fans shocked by the release with a simple "money, money, money,
money".
The full track listing of the album is as follows:
1. Smells Like Teen Spirit - P. Diddy
2. In Bloom - Pink
3. Come As You Are - Kelly Clarkson
4. Breed - Missy Elliott
5. Lithium - Shakira
6. Polly - Beyoncé Knowles
7. Territorial Pissings - Jennifer Lopez
8. Drain You - Avril Lavigne
9. Lounge Act - Hilary Duff
10. Stay Away - Christina Aguilera
11. On A Plain - Britney Spears
12. Something In The Way - Justin Timberlake
Ahh crap!
one last show.

MAYBE Shakira and Pink would be able to pull it off...but that's it..
...Yes, I admit it...even my husband [Justin] would have to make a miracle to pull a stunt like that

this has GOT to be satire.
there is no way that any of this is real and i refuse to believe it until i see an acredited source verify it.

Amid the chaos of that day, when all I could hear was the thunder of gunshots, and all I could smell was the violence in the air, I look back and am
amazed that my thoughts were so clear and true, that three words went through my mind endlessly, repeating themselves like a broken record:
you're so cool, you're so cool, you're so cool. And sometimes Clarence asks me what I would have done if he had died, if that bullet
had been two inches more to the left. To this, I always smile, as if I'm not going to satisfy him with a response. But I always do. I tell him
of how I would want to die, but that the anguish and the want of death would fade like the stars at dawn, and that things would be much as they are
now. Perhaps. Except maybe I wouldn't have named our son Elvis.

I didn't even read that article until just now, Dez. I was a fool to even think that this could have been real...even if it was just for a
mili-second.

Well I can't even find the official Nirvana website. Unless my eyes are tricking me. Fortunately, I checked the Associated Press' website
and they have no record of any such article.
I may have posted a fake. Well let's hope so atleast.

Thinking this is true is the same as thinking Britney (or Avril) writes her own songs. Ha!

Ha is right!
I sure hope this is phony.
Can you imagine if it was true? That list of people would be pathetic. The only person who probably knows anything about Nirvana is pink, and
that's not for sure.

Papa Diddy Puff might know a little sumpin, sumpin. Kinda reminds me of this year's Grammys though. (which btw seem to get more pathetic every
year)
They mentioned this on 97.7 today. How do you get a Grammy Award winning rock song (7 Nation Army) from a Grammy Award winning alternative album
(Elephant)?
And the people who decided that St. Anger was the Best Metal performance obviously did not actually hear the song did they?

i almost thought that was serious for a second. i read the forum on the link that was posted, and it was obviously a joke
How do you communicate those emotions that are so intense that no physical expression or series of words can even scratch the surface?
