buy or no buy?
This dude on my hockey team has an Ibanez GAX75GP guitar and he was willing to sell it to me for 100 bucks. It's one of the more beginner ibanez
guitars i know but i was thinking of using it just as a secondary guitar to bring around and crap cuz i already have an Ibanez RG series guitar.
I was just wondering if anyone really knows that much about this guitar and if you think its a good deal or not. Or if maybe someone has this guitar.
Im pretty sure i saw i pic of greg in the picture thread and he had either an AX or GAX series guitar but anyways yea what do you guys think?
Here's a pic just to make it easier. The one hes selling me is in perfect shape; barely been used. It's the one with that drop d switch
thing but apparently its doesnt really work that well.

I've tried the Drop D switch on that. It does work, but it's ugly as hell. And what's the point of having a D-tuna on a guitar that
doesn't have a locking neck? It only takes a split second to detune, anyway.
Either way, for a hundred dollars, I would buy it. Why not? The more the merrier (sp?). And even if it is a crap guitar, that's still a steal.
Do it, man. I would.
Edit: My guess is that guitar costs around 250-300 dollars new in store. You're definetely saving a couple hundred dollars...

Yea he said he bought it new for 250 so might aswell. My first offer was 50 bucks but he didnt go for that.
Hmm im not sure but im pretty sure its permanent. He said it works going from standard to drop d but when u try and put it back to standard after its
all out of tune... but that doesnt surprise me much anyways.

If you decide you don't want it, tell him I'll buy it from him. I'll cut him a check right now (or money order if he prefers).

Umm...there is a saying that is similar to that but it goes something like "The man with the most toys at the end still dies." meaning you
don't "win" because you have more toys.

unless they're pointy toys and you have so many that the only place to store them is on the floor. and you don't have room in the house to
have any shoes.

sounds like you have a bit of experience?
the d-tuner is lame. like reivax said, once you get used to it, you can tune it to drop D in a split second anyway, and when you go back to E, your
gunna have to do it manually anyway, so what is the point.
but anyway, yeah, buy the guitar.
Some things take more than a lifetime.

Why would you buy a shitty guitar? You'll most likely regret it a ways down the road when you realized you spent 100 dollars on a guitar you
don't enjoy playing much anyway. Save your money and buy a higher quality guitar.
