My Own Track

I've been writing some of my own stuff for a few months now... hopefully I'll get some of it recorded later... all of it's pretty basic though...

I wanted a few opinions though... if u hate it or not... I really like it though and it's hard for me to like anything I write...

Here's the .midi version for now

Now, it's really hard to judge by Midi, but I'll give you a few thoughts I have. I know how you feel with the whole not liking most things you write, I go through the same thing. I think it's good, though, because it makes you want to push out the best you can and not just lay down the first thing that comes to mind.

I'll start with the negative: I got to say, it's repetitive. I think the high note-bass note, high note, bass note etc...thing needs to be changed up a little bit. Maybe that could come with some rhythm, I suppose.

Positive: It has good song structure. It actually (something I never seem to do) has, what could be, an intro, verse, chorus and outro. The stuff I do is pretty hard to put a voice over top of it, but yours really sounds like a song. When it actually does change a little, it sounds good. It needs a couple more of those breaks in the structure.

Good work, man. How did you make it into a midi, anyway?

Did you right click it and save? I didn't do that the first time and it didn't work then.

There we go....

It sounds really good, although I have to agree that it is a little repetative. I was ready for some drums to come n 26 seconds into the song, that owuld sound amazing IMO

work with it some more, very good

This has really made me want o make my own stuff. my cousin has this program wherey u can make a complete songg, with some large variety of different instruments, I would really like to get into tht but it looks so confusing

I might try and work on a drum part and add a bit more bass or something... I'll look at it a bit more...

I exported it from Power Tab to the .midi file.

just out of curiosity, what do you guys think of this (the attachment I mean)? this is one of our songs (our as in me and my bandmates), its just the midi version because we have absolutly no recroding equiment as of yet.

pardon the length of the intro, its actually intro/verse so it sounds kinda long but vocals come in after the first time through. the song has changed a bit since we tabbed this but we're too lazy to change it. so as a rough draft, how does it sound?

btw, the name changed too haha, i'm just too lazy to change it XD

Danielle, remember you can't just click on them, you have to right-click and save.

This is good, Adidas. Honestly, I'm too tired to give a critique of it, though. It was good.

Last night, I got all inspired to try and use powertab to tab out some of my songs and riffs, but I can't use that fucking program! I am so musically stupid, I just don't get it. I did do a couple of my songs, but I was lucky and it took me hours to do them. I just never know what speed to change the notes, or what tempo to use, or what else might need to be changed. It fucking sucks.

how does this work, you can't just add it as an attachment?

I don't know. It probably has to be really small. Is it a midi, Jorge?
