Google
I was wondering exactly how it is you can get your website up in a serach engine like google. I've been trying to figure it out but i
can't come to the answer. I know the livid site is up on google when you search them so maybe someone here can help me. Does it cost anything?
I'm really clueless.

I believe it's certain keywords that you type in. Google recognizes pages that contain or consist of those keywords, and displays them in a most
likey, to least likely order. Hopefully that'll help.

Well, I know with Altavista, Yahoo, etc you have to subscribe to be on them (at least I did many moons ago), for better access you pay money but I
didn't. Google however uses all the other search engines I believe (so if you are with say Yahoo, then Google will pick you up), and I guess it
might search the keyword thing as well. Not too sure about that though.

nope. you can pay most search engines to place you higher on the list for certain keywords, but google doesn't work this way. the only thing you
can pay google for, i believe, is to have you on the side "google ads" or whatever. search engines have computer programs called robots
which basically start on a web page and click on every link they can find, making an index of each page. meta keyword tags do jack shit with modern
search engines - they look at the actual content of the page. then all the indices are compiled and it is searched by keyword. so you don't have
to do anything to show up on google - you just might have to wait a month or so from uploading the site to it appearing in searches.
