The grass is always greener in somebody else's lawn.
First of all, what is your personal definition of that statement? How do you feel about it?
This topic might be something hard to admit, but let's give it a shot nonetheless. Hopefuly we'll be able to stay on track, and everyone
will understand the underlying topic being discussed here.
Have you ever found yourself wishing you had something that someone else already has?
Or...
When you and another person have the exact same thing, do you find yourself wishing you had what that person has, just because you think its better,
since it belongs to them?
Note that these things don't have to be material, per se. It's just a way to look a things. These 'items' can range from being
emotional to physical, or material, as I previously mentioned.
Thinking caps, chop chop. (cracks whip)
Hah, just kidding.

well it's true - the grass is always greener on the other side. or at least it looks greener: here's why. when you're looking down
at your grass you're right above it, so you see a lot of earth between the blades. however, when you're looking over the fence at the
neighbour's grass, you are looking at it at an angle. therefore, it is much harder to see the earth between the blades of grass - the grass in
front is covering it all up. so you see more green.
case solved.
i might post something to do with the topic a bit later.

yes, but you must appreciate that miracle gro can give an advantage not dependant on perspective.

ah, but if both you and your neighbour use miracle gro, it'll still look greener on the other side because of what i said up there.

not necessarily: consider neighbours who roll their grass in such a manner than the earth beneath is concealed when viewed from the other side of the
fence.

My thread has been sabotaged. -sniff-
I have no clue but according to my shitty science knowledge grass seems to be of green color because all the colours in a rainbow (you can name them,
I'm too lazy to) are abdsorbed except for green..and they're absorbed into the leaves I guess.
It's just as simple of a question as asking why is snow white and not any other colour.
Can we get back on-topic now? (pleads)

Someone else's life always "looks" better because you don't see all of it. That's like saying "Oh I love your mom
she's so cool" but I don't see when she gets mad and yells at you. You only see the part that others let you see. Why would you
brag about crappy stuff that is or has happened to you?
That's all I can write right now...I'm tired and must hit the hay...early morning tomorrow.

Hmm u know for the longest time i was going through something where i just envied everyone around me.. I was sad, and i was alone for the most part.
I kept everything bottled in and i spent my time sitting and observing around and as I said just envied evreryone around me.. It just seems everyone
is happy except me! well it is waht I felt and frankly this just made my shitty moods shittier and their goes another day. wow.. took nearly a year
to come out of this and well i put myself in a newer situation and well i must say right i feel my grass is greener, i have allot of great things
going for me, and i realise I have more then i thought I did, and i have a come a long long way. I had happened to be able to write this today, as
well I got very hit yesterday by rather amasing words lastnight from someone very close to me. It rather surprised me but it was what i needed to
hear. I was in shock and didn't know what to say at the time.. I thought allot about it today and its sorta weird seeing this thread here. but
yeah i think in my case i truly feel right now my grass is greener.
but if i had to generalise, I Often always feel the grass is greener in someone else's lawn.

I hate it when people say my mom is nice. YOU DON'T SEE HER BEHIND CLOSED DOORS!
The night's as hot as hell. It's a lousy room in a lousy part of a lousy town - I'm staring at a goddess. She's telling me she
wants me. I'm not going to waste one more minute wondering how I've gotten this lucky. She smells like angels ought to smell, the perfect
woman... the Goddess. Goldie. She says her name is Goldie.

People have a tendency to want what they don't have, or can't get, it's kind of like a nature that drives us. I can't remember
where it was said but I heard somewhere that we don't wish for things that we want per se, when we wish for material goods, emotional stuff
it's more the want itself that is more important to you because effectively you're giving yourself something to work towards. If
there's nothing you want, why would you bother doing anything?
Have you ever found yourself wishing you had something that someone else already has?
Yes, all the time. It's all material though, never anything social or emotional or anything like that. I'm quite happy with my particular
traits.
When you and another person have the exact same thing, do you find yourself wishing you had what that person has, just because you think its
better, since it belongs to them?
To put it simply, no.

How do you communicate those emotions that are so intense that no physical expression or series of words can even scratch the surface?

How do we know what the colour green really is. maybe we've been brain washed and what green truly is. Maybe its what we consider blue or red or
yellow and so on....
But we always thinks what somebody has done /has is so much better than what we've done/ what we have. But we tend to covet what
our"neighbour" has and well we should be happy with what we have. There is a kiddie movie about this and i for get the title but its a
Veggie Tales video... its about a blueberry and this blue berry wanted everything but then she runs in to this child veggie who has next to nothing
and she was happy that she had a cupcake for her birthday... it was a lesson about being thankful for what we have... I must admit I 've wanted
stuff other people have but then I know I cant so yea. There is my slightly odd input.

The interesting thing about colour is that it isn't really defined. You can't definitively say what green, or yellow, or blue is without
an object to relate it to. So it could be possible that what one person perceives to be green isn't in fact what everyone else considers green
but becuase there's no actual way of explaining your own personal vision of colour it's impossible to know. Wee, look at me ramble.

Well maybe the people who are colour blind actually see the real colours and the rest of us are colour blind.... And what makes a weed a weed?
