I know everyone can't have the same opinion. But the way I approach things is that I try and persuade people to think the same as me. When
someone expresses an opinion to me and it differs from mine, I challenge them to justify their opinion. If you can't justify your opinion, then
why would you bother thinking that in the first place. And if you can, then you earn my respect and subsequently my respect for your opinion.
Faaip de Oiad means "the voice of god" in the ancient enochian language. The voice you hear on the Tool CD is supposedly the voice of a
man who used to work at Area 51. He talks about spaceships a shit. The phone call was recorded by Art Bell, the former host of a west coast radio
call in show about the paranormal. The funny thing is, that halfway through the crazy dude's phone call, all the power on the western sea board
went out. Officials never found out how or why the power went out, it just did. And it happened to be during that guy's paranoid rant. Being
a conspiracy theorist, I like little stories like that.
I challenge you to listen to that track in the pitch dark.... While under the influence of mushrooms, you'll never be the same!

THat's definitely not a song. It's some seriously messed up shit. YOu don't listen to that because you are looking for some good
tunes. It's just some crazy stuff that Tool does for the hell of it. And maybe there's some meaning to it like Jeff says. Either way you
shouldn't judge it like the other songs on the album.

maynard is a god. if not yours, he's certainly my god. he screams on heaps of tracks... jerkoff, eulogy (13 second yell to finish the song...
simply amazing) bottom, hooker with a penis, hush, i could go on...
Maynard is deff the best singer of all time for mine

Dude, I have news for you. Emo doesn't really exist. It's a buzzword started by people trying to classify bands with certain lyrical
content. Then when you actually start listening to lots of music you see that all bands sing about themes of love, life, loss and inspiration. The
nature of music is to be emotional and thus, emo does not exist.
Oh on the contrary, emo DOES exist. It exists so much in that you are trying to defend it's non-existance. If it didn't exist there
would be nothing to discuss.
But on top of that I find it laughable that your reasoning for it not existing is because it is a "buzzword started by people trying to classify
bands with certain lyrical content". Where do you think the term Alternative came from? When you hear the term Indie band do you now think of
a DIY band like The Livid, or someone like The Flaming Lips (signed to Warner Bros) or Mercury Rev (Columbia). All genre names are made up buzzwords,
that's the whole point of them! It's people's ways of categorizing music. It's easier than saying they sound like bands x, y
and z to just say they play "emo" music.
and finally my last bit of proof of the existance of emo:
go to www.allmusic.com and do a search on 'emo' with the styles button clicked.
