Hendrix should not be #1 guitarist, that should be Tommy Emmanuelle. Only guy I can think of who can play some incredibly complex electric solos and
bust out acoustic guitar delights like Blue Moon or Bluefinger.

I couldn't disagree more. When you're determining the skill and worth of a guitarist, it's not whether or not they can play
acoustic AND electric guitar, because once you can play one, you can play the other. Moreso, it lies in the overall difficulty of what is being
played along with factors hindering the persons ability to play.
IE: Hendrix's discusting guitar solo's in EVERY SONG and the fact that he was playing a right handed guitar left handed an upside down.
To me that's a little better than being able to play an acoustic guitar.

yah jack white shouldn't have even been on the list. rolling stone magazine has got everyone in the wrong place. angus young (ac/dc) should be
at least in the top 20. other wise they got a some little problems. also does anyone know if the guys from rage against the machine are now in
audioslave? i've heard that their drummer, their bassist, and tom morello are in audioslave but not their singer.

Yea, they always have been. Audioslave were formed as a side project for the 3 from Rage and Chris Cornell.
Don't know if Rage are still together or whatever, though.

Are you guys serious? Because the breakup and formation of Audioslave was widely known as far as I knew.
RATM disbanded after 'artistic differences' between Tom, the bassist, the drummer, and Zack De La Rocha. I believe it was the bassist
that got drunk at a video awards show and made a spectacle of himself. Zack got mad and left the band.
The three guys decided to stay together and form a new band while Zack went solo (he's yet to release an album. It's been delayed more
than a flight to Paris). Eventually (after many try-outs) the three dudes chose Chris Cornell and started making demos under the name CIVILIAN.
Eventually, they changed their name to AUDIOSLAVE (very fitting I think) and released some killer music. (Far better than anything done by RATM in my
humble opinion.)
And that is the story.
PS: To the dude that thinks Angus Young should be in the top 20 and Jack White not on the list at all: I have no comment. I am too shocked.

Hmmm, I've played a right handed bass upside down before, then I realised it's not that hard to play your non preferred way (in case you
didn't get that, I'm left-handed), although I must admit the way Hendrix played did look cool.
Oh and when I say Tommy Emmanuelle can play acoustic, I don't mean Alternative Metal 4 chord acoustic, I mean he has a bassline, rhythm, lead
and percussion all going at the same time, and believe me, if you ever watched someone play something like that you'll just drop your jaw and
wonder how the hell it's possible (I know a couple classical guitarists, they're always learning stuff by Emmanuelle, Don Ross, Chet
Atkins, etc and it still amazes me every time one of them plays Bluefinger).

I have to agree with some and disagree with others, Clapton should be number one, i mean lets face it kids he is probably the greatest technical
guitar player of all time showing his versitility on some many different levels with Cream, The YardBirds, Solo, right through to playing blues with
BB King.
I appologize if this offends anybody but the fact that the white stripes are even included among such names as clapton and hendrix just makes me
weak....
but like somebody said earlier
maybe its just me

I agree Clapton should have been at number one. I was very pleased to see him in the top five at least anyway. His work with Cream was phenomenal.
And after fighting through the drug scene and the untimely death of his kid, this guy deserves all the credit in the world.
--------
And to the other guy who I was discussing acoustic guitar playing with: I agree with what you're saying for the most part, but once you get into
classical and those obscure areas of guitar playing, I think you're getting out of the realm that Rolling Stone was going for with the list.
And by no means am I saying that any of these guitarists you have mentioned suck, I just don't think Angus Young deserves to even be near the
list of top 100 guitarists.

Yeah, I know, Rolling Stone goes more for the musicians people are going to know, which is understandable becuase then people can relate to it on some
level. If it were filled with obscure named people, no matter how good, people are less likely to care for it.
