many drums teachers will get their students to play that way to improve technique...
really? if you play with sticks that way around then the rebound is greater - to improve technique you need as little rebound as possible.
but as an afterthought... i guess it could work for a beginner to learn how to control the bounce of the sticks.

i was gonna say that he might just have chucked them up and caught them the wrong way - obviously this not being Adam's style, I was wrong. But
yeah it does sound good, as you get more of a 'thud' as opposed to a umm 'tap' i guess. i tried holding them the other way,
however the kit i was using at the time was a bit s**t, so it just made it sound ever worse. will have to try it on a 'proper' kit. So who
actually here plays drums?

I will agree with Xlivid, because i am also a drummer and have been for a number of years. all though i feel that i can get a faster roll and beats
with light weight, dipped sticks, the switched stick wethod is very effective for louder, solid hits on your drum. Im still wondering what kind of kit
Adam has though..
