maybe he breaks sticks as fast as me, and thus tries to extend their useful life by beating the skins with the other end?

Thats a great idea if I've ever heard one

Or maybe he has weak arms ? And hitting it with the other end makes a louder sound

Hmm, I'm on to something lol

I've never seen anyone do that before.

It always warns you when you get sticks not to play with them that way.

Bad Adam.

Tsk.

I tried to play with one in one hand and the other in my mouth once.

Got a bit over enthusiastic and it hurt quite a bit.

Adams sticks

He does it to get a big fucking smash off the drum head. He goes through skins like a whore with herpies. He hits so hard that I get showered by little wood shards every show. It fuckin hurts some times. I've seen him play with his Hamilton Bros and he used the sticks the standard way. He's very versatile. You should here him jam Sublime! Now Check out the crowd of smiley people head bang at a Livid Consvert:
yes:: yes:ye::ye s:

The handles feel a certain way when you convert it. Instead of feeling like holdin a wood pole you feel like your holding a Top Heavey drum stick. But ask him. I'm sure he'd tell ya why better than I.

i am a drummer and i play that way too... its way easier to make a solid hit.... and playing a heavier gage is no better... because the weight is evenly distributed... this way there is an obvious force pulling towards the head... many drums teachers will get their students to play that way to improve technique... in a heavy band like the livid it makes perfect sense... keep on rock'n in the free work Adam... you da man
