I've always thought Huneault was probably the gayest name there ever was. A lot worse than Kenny actually.

In an interview Brandon Boyd said that the song isn't about one person in particular but rather a bunch of people.

the new incubus song is awesome. it was and was not an expected step for incubus. as far as the music goes, i expected them to go back to their "roots." howver, as far as the lyrics go...they seem to be a lot more political. in the past, incubus has been more of a social commentary and this is why i have enjoyed their music for years on end. i dunno...politics is no forte of mine, but as far as the music goes, im in love. support incubus and support your local band. oh yeah, someone posted the lyrics slightly incorrectly...here they are:
Megalomaniac

I hear you on the radio
You permeate my screen
Its' unkind, but if I met you in a scissor fight
I'd cut off both your wings on principle alone
On principle alone

Hey megalomaniac
You're no Jesus
Yeah, you're no fucking Elvis
Wash Your hands clean (or Yourself)
Baby yeah
Step down
Step down

If I were your appendages
I'd hold open your eyes
So you would see
That all of us are heaven sent
There was never meant to be only one
To be only one

Hey megalomaniac
You're no Jesus
Yeah, you're no fucking Elvis
Wash Your hands clean (or Yourself)
Baby yeah
Step down
Step down

Yeah
You're no Jesus
You're not Elvis
...
You're no answer

Hey megalomaniac
You're no Jesus
Yeah, you're no fucking Elvis
Wash Your hands clean (or Yourself)
Baby yeah
Step down
Step down

the chorus is excellent, and i love the extended chorus at the end. i also really like the part where brandon is singing "youre no jesus/ youre no elvis/ youre no answer"....the first time i heard it...the whole input of the word "answer" made me think. as you can tell...i love incubus. check out my band too though...support the smaller scenes.

sign our guestbook...mp3z downloaded at (pls dl one song at a time...low badwidth)

oh yeah, and dont be discouraged by the song titles themselves...those are all inside jokes.
anyway...that was my first post...take care yall

I need you to hear.
I need you to see that I have had all I can take and exploding seems like a definate possibility to me.
So pardon me while I burst into flames.
I've had enough of the world and it's people's mindless games.
So pardon me while I burn and rise above the flame.
Pardon me, pardon me.... I'll never be the same.

you must understand armour, the flying v and beyond the extreme of wickedness is a collection of jam sessions. every last bit of that recording was completely freestyled.....and recorded onto a computer. if you say the music stinks...so be it. if you pay attention to the technicalities both our guitarist and bassist use, maybe you will appreciate it a bit more. but please, by all means...what do you suggest for us?
and yes, i am the singer.

well i said it was a good idea, cause i like the fact that you freestyled the whole thing. the problem is, that (A) i am not exactly a fan of the music style (i was going to say "that type of music", but then realized that there is nothing else like it.
(B ) the recording wasnt too great, so your voice didnt sound so hot (im sure it would have been much with the correct type of recording equipment), and i could barely tell that there was a guitar. and (C) i think that you should work on material, and practice a lot for singing. i know that it was a freestyle, but it was rather comedic as if it were all an inside joke. try to use generic material that everyone can relate to. and the pace of the singing is key, and you werent exactly following the music.

but other than that good stuff (especailly the bass). of course that is just MY opinion, and you probably dont give a fuck what anyone else thinks, and you shouldnt. just make the music for you, and if other people dopt like it, then screw them. and if they do like it then great.

back to the topic though, the music video for megalomaniac is really strange. almost disturbing. it's monty python-ish. haha

video is awesome. in case anyone is wondering...megalomaniac is a pathological egoist... maybe that helps to explain the lyrics a bit more. maybe not. im fucking stoked though...the new album comes out for me (holland) jan 30...dont ask me why. the dudes in the record store were also quite perplexed. also, thanks for your comments on the v, armour
