quotation:

Why would someone work a 9-5 office job they hate for 35 years? It's a job.

I don't think that someone could create, preform, or play any music that they hate. If they hate it everyone else will hate it. I don't beleive that someone could hate their music career and also go big...maybe hate the pressure but not the actual music

How do you communicate those emotions that are so intense that no physical expression or series of words can even scratch the surface?

All original created music is art. (with of course the exception of label manufactured music. i.e. Brittany Spears etc.) The reason I state all music is art is simple, music is generally created as an expression of ones self, i.e. the creators mood and emotions at that point in life.
Art is considered an expresion of ones self anyway it manifests itself, whether it be painting, drawing, sculpting or music.
So therefore by definition any music that is created in an attempt to express ones self in anyway shape or form is considered art.....Now there is the exception to the rule, Say Eric Clapton were to sit down and cover a brittany spears tune.....then it would be art but only cause he's a demi god when it comes to music,
anyways i guess my little analyitical tirade is over.....
thanks

Some very good points there Mr. Heart. However, even thought Spears' music is label manufactured, it's still art. It still express the creators mood and emotions, just not Brittney's. So maybe she's not an artist, just a preformer.

one last show.

I hate to repeat myself.

you said that britney is not an artist because she is conveying the message of the artist but don't you think that she gives a bit of herself when she performs???

just a thought... and if you don't like something does that make it not Artful??

i think art is in the eyes of the beholder and there are many people that have bought Britney's album who would debat that it is artistic.

not me... but someone...

You have all pointed out that I was errored in my previous statement, and you are correct. So I appologize, I guess Brittany Spears Music must be considered art, However I personally believe she cannot be considered an artist as she is not the creator ( her lyrics and melodies are written by somebody else ) although Xlivid makes a good point stating that in each performance she gives it a little bit of herself. The only disagreement I have with that statement is this, what is "herself" in the age we are in now where your image and all aspects of your life are created by your label (at least in that genre of music) what is yourself?
Is she actually portraying Brittany Spears the girl or Brittany Spears the proper marketing image.
P.S. I meant no offense to anyone who likes B. Spears if any was taken I appologize. Tks.

xX*I am sorry now (but will I ever let you go…)
Things seem so wrong (I had something worth living for)
I cant go on, but its something we’re suppose to do
My heart is crushed, now that I’m without you
