Jamming Session/Meet for members. -Discussion
I was talking to Reivax a couple of days ago about having a get-together sorta thing for the members of this site within the next two months or so.
My idea was for it to be a "jamming session", just to make things easier for everyone. I know that we had previously discussed that if a
meet took place, the activity would have to keep everyone semi-relaxed and comfortable, and it couldn't be anything that would block some
socializing...Agree?
In my opinion, having this happen would be nice since all the musicians of the site could not only showcase their own stuff, but just jam to Livid
tunes at some point [to keep it related to the band], or even do some covers of other bands, and overall have a GREAT time.
Oh yeah..and I don't play any instruments...but I've been singing for years, so that's how I'd contribute to this.
Whoever doesn't play or sing can be the little audience..and just enjoy the meet nonetheless. I've been thinking about making a proposal
for it on a thread for a while, but I think that this is something that definetly has to be discussed amongst everyone.
What days or even what MONTH would be good for most of you?
Do you even think it's a good idea?
I think we'd have to rent a hall for this sorta thing, wouldn't we? I doubt anyone's place is enough to fit equipment and
people..
So..it's out on the table. Any comments or suggestions are much appreciated. We'll start an "Event committee" if all goes
well.

This sounds like an awesome idea. I'm good anytime after the 15th of August. OoOoO!! Can we do Kareoke? lmao

I think you need to simplify Dez. Someone's house is the most realistic option. If you're worried about gear (amps etc) you need to
simplify. Cut it down to one set of gear for bass and one for guitar. That way people can just bring their instrument and plug in.

Hmm, also most musicians tend to have their own gear.. but i dunno if u just chill in someones house, hang out, do a lil a jam, talk a lil, eat some
snacks sounds pretty reasonable and possible. i dont think we need to have a basic band kit their.. i mean were not performing or anything, just a
random jam, when you wanna play, pull your guitar out plug it in, or just pull out the old acoustic and have fun. I have to agree that keeping it
simple will make it a more successful event, and prolly allot easier to organise.
as for being available, when a date is set, i'll try and organise myself around it and perhaps show up. At this point, I cannot say whats a
good time.

Can't we all just get hammered? I'm much more amusing that way.

anyone have a mobile baby grand?
Amid the chaos of that day, when all I could hear was the thunder of gunshots, and all I could smell was the violence in the air, I look back and am
amazed that my thoughts were so clear and true, that three words went through my mind endlessly, repeating themselves like a broken record:
you're so cool, you're so cool, you're so cool. And sometimes Clarence asks me what I would have done if he had died, if that bullet
had been two inches more to the left. To this, I always smile, as if I'm not going to satisfy him with a response. But I always do. I tell him
of how I would want to die, but that the anguish and the want of death would fade like the stars at dawn, and that things would be much as they are
now. Perhaps. Except maybe I wouldn't have named our son Elvis.

Okay, okay...
You guys DO realize that most of you are UNDER LEGAL DRINKING AGE...right?
We couldn't go anywhere to drink..there would have to be alcohol bought and we'd drink it at someone's house.
No offense, but I don't think that's a good idea. Say something happens, who'd be held responsible? Those who "provided"
the alcohol.
Pardon my "goody-two-shoes"-ness, but I highly doubt that's a good idea.
As for bowling or any other type of casual activity, I'm up for it...I just personally thought that a jam session would be a little bit more
exciting...but sure, throwing balls at pins is also amusing.
Joel- I know someone who owns a baby grand...it was a pain in the butt to get it into her bedroom though, so I doubt she wants it out..haha. Plus, I
didn't know you could play the piano? haha.
Looking back at my original post, I do agree that keeping things simple would be a better idea. I was just thinking that space wise...we need one heck
of a large house to do this.
So....any volunteers?
And if you go ahead with the drinking idea, that's alright..just count me out.
