The Future Leader of America
it's still to close to call, but i thought i'd make this thread because im sure you guys have something to say about it. And we shall
indeed know by tomorrow. I for one hope that Bush (or Dub Shrub as i like to call him) doesn't get relected. he certainly has done enough harm
in the past 4 years, and has made this country in which i live in much less-safe.

They're pretty certain that he won over here. They still need to count the provisional ballots in Ohio and a few other states but they
don't believe there's enough ballots to even possibly consider that Kerry could still win the electoral votes over there. If it's a
possibility than I hope they count them all.
I could really care less about both candidates. It was more about the issues they were for. Personally, I think this election is an example of the
cultural war going on at the moment.
I also don't believe that President Bush is really hated as much as people seem to believe. The media around here really dictates on what
forgeiners get to see of America (ex. the media interviewing citizians and asking their opinions).
I find it pretty odd though that many of you believe he's been a horrible politician. I'll agree with you but all politicians are
horrible. I find it odd that you believe Kerry would of done better. Possibly many of you believe that Clinton did a great job as President of The
United States. Clinton was a great speaker but I don't believe that he was a great as people seem to believe. A lot of things that Clinton
failed to do over his years as President.
I've gotten pretty tired of debating with people though. It looks like Bush has been re-elected. If it turns out that John Kerry wins the
election than so be it. I'm just glad it's all ending over here.

Bush has definately won by this point. he gave his acceptance speach this morning. nickelback, i do agree with you that even though Bush wasn't
the greatest, im not sure how much better off we would be with Kerry as our leader.

Would Canada be willing to take the complaining ignorant fools in this country at the moment? They're already complaining once again but this
time they can't use the popular vote as an excuse.
Maybe Mexico will trade us for some of their citizens that are actually wanting to live over here and are willing to work for minimum wage and
won't complain as much.

I really don't think that it matters who won this election. They all forget what they promised during these times and go against their word
anyways. The same thing would've happened no matter who was elected.
It's all about who can campaign to be the best liar.

i read an article in the NY times yesterday taht was quite interesting.
the article outlined that in all states that weren't considered swing states the EXIT POLES matched the final vote count.
but...
in the swing states where the biebold voting machines were used. (ie. OHIO and FLORIDA) the EXIT POLES did not match the final count. the exit poles
showed kerry ahead but bush somehow won
a couple facts on the DIEBOLD machines:
-The CEO of the company that makes them is an open supporter of BUSH, also has publically stated that he would make sure that the election went to
Bush. he is also a registered Republican and is pretty high in the party's ranks
-The machines are the only ones that do not print a paper ballet after a vote has been made. so there is no way of double checking the votes.
-in the other states that were considered swing states. the ones that didn't use the DIEBOLD machines. the exit poles matched the final vote
count.
come to think of it... i think that the article is scary not interesting....
maybe bush did steal the election... he just got better at it

Bush was elected. I know its not what alot of people wanted, and I understand all the arguments, but the bottom line is that Bush is president for
another 4 years. Obvioulsy this is what the majority of Americans(even though its a slim one) wanted, for whatever reason. Sucks, but that's
democracy for ya. Look at the bright side, Bush only has four years.
And its funny how the people who are anti Bush and are all "How could they vote that idiot in again?" are the same people who keep putting
the Liberals in power here in Canada. Although i guess here in Canada we know alot about voting idiots in.
