I'd doubt that The Livid, themselves, would do a "radio" thing... It seems that everyone in the band is very busy.
one last show.

ok, I was going to start a new tread, but this one was already hear. I have a couple questions, I guess for Bart or even Chris since he seems to show
up every once in a while. First, does the band mind if a fan at one of their shows records them playing? and second, if so, what is the band willing
to let us do to enable quality recording?
I ask this because I plan on going to their next show on Friday and I would really like to try and record some quality stuff for people to hear. I
would like to rent some audio recording equipment, nothing too drastic, just something that will actually record with some clarity. This way alot of
people that want to hear them play and do not have a chance to see them can.
I am pretty stoked to see what capabilities this band has live, seeing as I have never seen them. This is just an idea I had so shoot it down if you
want..but if I am out of line...be gentle
Then again, I just remembered they have a new song that nobody has heard yet..so I'm thinking the answer is no.

Most band like to be in charge of what recordings make it to the public... I am sure that if you wanna bring a tape recorder they wouldn't mind
but i doubt that they would want you having a good recording that they didn't have controle over.
its a whole copyright issue....
also i think that the Hard Rock has a policy against the entrance of professional recording equipement without the expressed writen permisson by all
bands that are performing on any given night... so you wouldn't have to only get permission from the livid but also the riddle and DM project in
order to even get in...
i say just get a minidisc recorder with a sure58 mic.. it will sound pretty good as long as you stand back near the sound guy...

Then that's what I'll do. Thanks. Im really not looking for something amazing, just something so the people that live too far away can get
an idea of what they sound like live.

So I went to a few placed today..music stores and basically anywhere I thought would sell/rent audio equipment. And I had no luck. Most people were
confused why I would want to record a concert on minidisc.
Sorry, guys. I really tried. I'm sure at sometime someone will record a live show. So, 'till then.
Well, at least now I wont have to stand in the back holding a mic.

Recording concerts on minidisc works pretty well. I've seen it done, with good results. You can get ones whose mics clip on to your shirt too.
The guys you were talking too were obviously innept.

www.dcn.com for peeps back in the states (such as moi) this place has webcams at clubs across the US and when there are shows, they broadcast over
the net!! i think its a great idea and i've gotten to see some shows that are major kick ass!!! problem with the livid, is that DCN
doesn't have anything in canada, far as i know at least...
EDIT: OK THEY HAVE ONE CLUB IN ONTARIO...some club called the horseshoe tavern er something...? you guys probobly know all about it...

I don't think I've seen the LIvid play there... but I have seen them play a couple doors down from there at the 360. Westpoint and Idle
Sons have played the Horseshoe though.
