really? if you play with sticks that way around then the rebound is greater - to improve technique you need as little rebound as possible.

but as an afterthought... i guess it could work for a beginner to learn how to control the bounce of the sticks.

i was gonna say that he might just have chucked them up and caught them the wrong way - obviously this not being Adam's style, I was wrong. But yeah it does sound good, as you get more of a 'thud' as opposed to a umm 'tap' i guess. i tried holding them the other way, however the kit i was using at the time was a bit s**t, so it just made it sound ever worse. will have to try it on a 'proper' kit. So who actually here plays drums?

Tuition until about 8 months ago. Then my ghey teacher disappeared

So self taught now, although I don't get to play as much as I would like, had lots of work this year :/

I will agree with Xlivid, because i am also a drummer and have been for a number of years. all though i feel that i can get a faster roll and beats with light weight, dipped sticks, the switched stick wethod is very effective for louder, solid hits on your drum. Im still wondering what kind of kit Adam has though..
