Favourite songs and albums.

I never thought I would make one of these "Favourite" posts. They can be very boring, I know. But I have spent alot of time today thinking about and going over my favourite songs of all time. And I made a list of about 100 songs. Songs that have changed the way of my life, songs that have sentimental meaning, songs that have been a part of my life for a long time and just plain great songs. As long as that took, I also wrote down my favourite albums of all time, which took quite a bit less time to figure out. This is gonna take a while for me to write. Please feel free to do the same and let me know your fav. songs. It'll give me some ideas of some songs to D/L. Hopefully the same goes with my list for someone here.

Here we go, in no particular order:

Metallica:Orion, Hero of the day, Puppets
Apocalyptica: Path
Tea Party: Midsummer day, Drawing down the moon
Joe Satriani: Always with me, Thinking of you, baroque up in the sky, crystal planet, love thing, until we say goodbye
Cold: Bleed
Finger Eleven: Tip, Famous
Lifehouse: Everything, Wash
Radiohead: Lucky
Tool: Stinkfist, the grudge
Linkin Park: With you
Ozzy: See you on the other side, I just want you
Nirvana: Drain you
Matthew good (band): inescapable us suburbia, everything is automatic
Pearl Jam: indifference, immortality nothingman, I got shit
A perfect circle: The Hollow
Silverchair: Emotion sickness, without you
311: beautiful disaster, eons
chili peppers: parralel universe, tearjerker, soul to squeeze
Yngwie Malmsteen: Icarus' dream suite opus 4
Big Wreck: under the lighthouse
Weezer: The world has turned, Jonas, say it aint so
The Trews: Hopeless
I mother earth: Earth, sky and C.
Incubus: The warmth, I miss you
Failure: Enjoy the Silence
Staind: Epiphany
7 mary 3: Water's edge
Collective soul: The world I know, Listen
NIN: A warm place
Eric Johnson: Cliffs of dover
The Cult: Edie
Era: Impera, Era, Sempire D'amour
Livid: Broke and Crossed, Watch it die
Offspring: genocide
Real life: Send me an angel
Aerosmith: Angel
Dave matthews band: Crash

And the songs that made the second cut:

Stevie Ray Vaughn: Little Wing
BOC: Don't fear the reaper
UPO: Godless
Manic street preachers: If you tolerate this
Bling Guardian: Mirror Mirror
Blinker the star: Below the sliding door
King cobb steelie: Rational
Guns 'n' Roses: November rain
Staind: Can't believe
Hayden: In september
At the drive-in: One armed scissor
Rusty: Wake me
Metallica: To live is to die
Days of the new: Enemy
Jimi: All along the watchtower
U2: Electrical storm, Beautiful day
Deftones: Bored, Around the fur, Digital Bath, Hexigram
Cold: Just got wicked, She said, it's all good, go-gone away
Tea party: Winter solstice, The badger, messenger, babylon, heaven coming down
Disturbed:stupify
Better than Ezra: Good
Jimmy eat world: A praise chorus
Moist: Ophelia
Satriani: What breaks a heart, Mindstorm, unforgotten 2, friends

Okay, I guess that's more than 100 songs. And a few bands or artists got alot more attention than others. But certain bands I like dozens of songs, so I had to list at least a few of the good ones.

My favourite albums. Meaning these albums I basically have to listen to every single song, or I wont be quite as satisfied. Where every song somehow is just that good. Or it's just a killer fuckin' album where almost all the songs are gold. It doesn't happen often, but these ones do:

Metallica: Puppets
Joe Satriani: Crystal planet
Cold: 13 ways to bleed on stage
311: transistor
Silverchair: Diorama
Tenacious D
Yngwie Malmsteen: Rising force
IME: Scenery & fish
7 mary 3: American standard
Lifehouse: No name face (stanley climbfall)
Matthew good band: Last of the ghetto astronaut's (Underdogs)
Collective soul: S/T (dosage)

And for sentimental reasons:

Dr. Dre: Cronic 2001
NIN: Downward spiral
Linkin Park: Hybrid theory

I put a couple albums in brackets because that band has more than one CD that I love.

Thanks...that took a long time. So I better get more than 2 responses

Hey, someone else likes, to live is to die..nice.

Kinda weird how an album can be so amazing, yet doesn't really make a best song list.

Well, rockerchick, I wouldn't expect anyone to be as dumb as me and write that many songs down. Just a few. I was really doing it mostly for my enjoyment to see what I would come up with.

I am not going to spend a long time on this, so I the album that influenced me the most would have to be Diorama, by Silverchair... Maybe I will add more later... but I can't be bothered now.

Morning View. A fine album
In fact, add to that list all the other Incubus albums too and you've got a deal.

Hey, Rob, couldn't agree more with Diorama. I'm really happy that it didn't blow up the way that it should have.

Great songs, Armour (don't know your name), thanks for taking the time. I can actually kinda tell an age gap with the song choices, it's weird. I didn't really put down any songs that I have been listening to lately, because I can't really say they are a fav yet.

Are you going to the Deftones, Thursday, Thrice show tonight, PIS? I couldn't get tickets. That woulda been a killer show.

Ya, there was. It was in missisauga at arrow hall. My friend went and he said that it was insane. They played mostly older stuff and most of the heavier crowd pleasers like 'headup', I think he said they ended with 'bored' and dedicated it to all the fans that have always been there for them, not sure though. He said he didn't really listen to the opening bands he was drinking. Im sure they were good.

Anything by Sarah McLachlan ......AMAZING talent.
Justified---Justin Timberlake (the man has talent, period. if you still do not believe me, please make sure you have watched his performance at SNL)
The Eminem Show---Eminem . Probably one of the most controversial artists out there right now, out of all of his albums and LPs...this is my favourite by far.
Shakira (Unplugged) ---Just, amazing..she's just...lord...
N*sync: No strings attached
Celebrity
Probably the only boy band I have ever liked...they are awesome, not because Justin is a member, but for various reasons.

Songs/Singles:
Elton John---Candle in the wind
Can you feel the love tonight?
Your Song

The Supremes---- Cant hurry love
Baby Love
Where did our love go?

Al Green------ Let's stay together

AC/DC-------- You shook me all night long
Back in Black

Phil Collins------- Cant stop loving you
Groovy Kind of Love

Joni Mitchell---- River

Dixie Chicks----- Landslide

Rolling Stones----- Sympathy for the devil
Miss you

And, there's more..i just cannot think of anything right now.

you won't let me down...
