put your number on this napkin

i dont know what the average age is on this message board, but i know each and every one of you have gone out and gotten your party on.

having a good number of years of bar hopping and debauchery under my beer belly stretched belt, i have a pretty extensive knowledge of the nightlife from hamilton to toronto to..... well...... nova scotia.

focus: where have you been that you woud encourage the other members of the board to check out?
considering this is the livid message board, we'll include different lilve music venues.

[Edited on 8-1-04 by mr. dobalina]

Amid the chaos of that day, when all I could hear was the thunder of gunshots, and all I could smell was the violence in the air, I look back and am amazed that my thoughts were so clear and true, that three words went through my mind endlessly, repeating themselves like a broken record: you're so cool, you're so cool, you're so cool. And sometimes Clarence asks me what I would have done if he had died, if that bullet had been two inches more to the left. To this, I always smile, as if I'm not going to satisfy him with a response. But I always do. I tell him of how I would want to die, but that the anguish and the want of death would fade like the stars at dawn, and that things would be much as they are now. Perhaps. Except maybe I wouldn't have named our son Elvis.

(this is a non-insulting post... yay!)

I've been to Florida. If you like buying children and watching Ferrari's zoom past you, go there.

I've been to Minnesota- don't go there. The Vikings play there. Minnesota only has cool parks, with alot of climby stuff.

I've also been to Mexico- looks quite familiar to Little Mexico.?.

I've also been to Illisions(sp?)- The pools in the Western Inn's are nice and warm. Good service at the Pizza Pizza there 2.

I've been to BC(woot!)- those badlands are sooooo bad ass.

I've also been to Montreal- Nothing really spectacular there. Alot of old cool stuff. I bought my lazer pointer there.

I've driven though alot of states on my various drives to Florida. Alot of S.American islands to. Like Curacao and places like that.

I'm to young to drink and I'm not into the 'your not cool unless you drink and party 24/7 thing'. I've got a life to look forward to.

Europe is a very nice place to do some drinking. I recommend Verdun (France). Its a nice small village with not much else to do than walk down the canal and stop in every bar you see. the drinks are slightly pricey but you get a lot.
belgium is also really nice. belgian beer is great. enough said.
holland. amsterdam. hilversum. anywhere in holland is fun to drink. and its a productive drunkeness too, usually, dont ask me why.
india, prollky none of you are gonna go there. delhi is an awesome place to go out drinking (as long asyou have a driver).
so yeah, thats my number on this napkin.

Yeah, Europe is great for night life

Especially Belgium, a placed called Mons... They shut and stop serving drinks when you leave. Belgium is the only place where I can buy 3 pints and feel pissed as a rat. Those guys know how to make a good beer

Unlike UK pubs, where you get kicked out at 11:15.

When 'mr.dobalina' said "put your number on this napkin" I never thought he would be asking about clubs and hot spots in the citay....
That phrase actually brought back memories of one night at the East Side Mario's bar...when some guy asked me to do that, and I told him off...hahaha

It's kind of sad. I sat here for a few minutes trying to think of a place to tell you to go. But, seriously, I couldn't think of a single thing. How sad is that?

I'm not really the'going out to party type of guy. I have never enjoyed bars. I'm like one of those 28 year old guys that have an epiphany and realize that - 1. Why would I spend 4 times as much on alcohol going out, 2. Why would I go out to socialize when most of the time I can't hear what people are saying, 3. Bars are not really the best place to meet a girl...and so on and so on. I have always been this way. Maybe if I enjoyed drinking more the case would be different.

I do realize that this post is not just about the night life. If you have never been, as I have stated before, the small southern towns of Alberta are just breathtaking. For instance Jasper and Banff. I love that part of the country. I hope to live somewhere that beautiful in my lifetime.

you guys have been to livid shows though, right? what were some of your favorite venues that they've played at?

What do you mean I have been lying to you? I am confused.

Oh, I am just comparing myself to someone of around the age where that would happen. I was actually talking to a guy that was 28 yesterday that said all those things and I wanted to tell him that's the way I always have been. I think that's a good age estimate that party people tend to realize that they can have just as much fun staying home.

Edit: Actually, I have been sorta lying about something. I was born December 20 1981. That means that I turned 22 just before christmas. I said I was 22 in November. You know just before you're birthday you think you are the age you are turning? I know I feel like that, especially having such a late year birthday. Most of my friends are turning 23 this month. I just feel like I am the same age as them, that's why I said I was 22 a month early. It was initially an accident...I hop you forgive me.

I have only seen the livid at the Edge building and 279. 279 was just wonderful. A beautiful place to go and see a show. It really doesn't matter that much, though, where they play...I would watch these guys every day if I could.
