yeah it's the 210. it sounds awesome. it's got 12 presets from clean to blues to metal, and 6 other built in effects.

yeah i hate how heavy epiphones and les pauls are. and i love how the SG looks, but i dont really like the feel of them.

I played one of these guitars yesterday at a store, and I was extremely impressed. I don't know why, but I really dug how it sounded and looked. It's a yamaha 'silent guitar', and it is actually designed to play while you wear headphones. It has built in reverb and it sounds wicked coming out of the headphones. I would imagine it works as a regular guitar, as well.

It also surprised me when I saw the price tag. I expected over a grand for it, and they were chargine $810 for it. I was so impressed I really feel like getting one.

Hmm i feel differently about that guitar, I tried it out and hated the sound completely. I guess cause im used to a real studio sounding instruments from recording in my studio with different instruments that it sounded too artificial for my ear.

I thought the silent guitar had incredible tone and a great feel when I played it.

------4-----1-----10
2-----4-----1-----10
1-----5-----3-----11
2-----x-----4-----12
4-----3-----5-----12
------4-----1------9

On another website someone posted these 4 chords and asked if people could play them. I thought it was sort of lame, but it was interesting what some people found hard and what people found easy. I can play the first 3 with no problem, but the 4th caused me some issues. However, on the other site, most people stated the 4th was the easiest and the others were difficult. Try and play 'em and tell me what you think.

I took pics of me playing them just 'cause. In order...

those were kinda difficult, but i do have quite small hands... im sur it also depends on how wide your fretts are.

I would have figured most frets are around the same size. The neck on my acoustic is pretty fat and I don't have very large hands, either. I think it's just a matter of figuring out where to put your fingers.

Ah, I had the same problems with the last one. I'm not the greatest with the pinky, so plugging the 5th and 4th strings on the 12th fret was difficult. Otherwise, the other ones were fairly simple.

I kinda liked how the first chord sounded, but you have to hit the 1st and 6th (open) as well.

That guitar looks pretty sweet. I don't really know what it is, but he's labeled it as some sort of Radius. Looks like the body's shape is the only thing really Radius about it...and maybe the neck. But it's still not completely the same body. Other than that ugly ass clear pick guard, I think it's pretty cool. The gold hardware is great, and the fact that it's not a floating bridge is fantastic. I only bring this up 'cause it's a pretty decent price currently.

And it can't hurt to bring this thread back.

yeah, that is a pretty cool guitar, for the price.

so it's gotten to that time, and im looking for a new guitar. idealy, i want the Ibanez JS, but without the locking device, and the suspended bridge, cause i hardly ever use my whammy bar, and i am constantly switching between different tunings, so the locking thing would be a pain. and unfortunately they don't make that guitar that way.
im also looking into a schecter, probably the C-1 Hellraiser... is that the one that you have Bart? how do you like that guitar anyway?
oh, and my friend got a Les Paul studio, all black with gold hardware. it's pretty sweet, but i wouldnt want to buy one, cause it ways so fucking much, it would destroy my back.
anyway, what do you guys think i should get for my next guitar?

Blam!

I guess they aren't making them new anymore, but they did make them.

Don't go for a les paul. I know alot of people like them, but they aren't aren't worth the price. At all. And they are so damn heavy.

Yeah, mine has it too, but it's black so it's not as obvious. I guess it holds the strings down or something. I think it has something to do with the design of the 6 knobs being on one side.

All 3 Ibanez's in this house have some sort of design similar that keeps the strings down. All are different. Only my radius has the bar on it. The other 2 are different, but do the same thing.

I'm still not exactly sure as to what it does, though.

it might be if the headstock doesn't lean back, to keep the strings closer to the wood.

the js2000 doesn't have a floyd rose either, i think. i never use the whammy bar, but i find the floating trem useful - you can push it just behind the strings to bend all the strings up at once, or pull under the fine tuners to bend down. it also stays in tune beautifully.

reivax i think that "radius" is an ugly guitar. i wouldn't buy it! i don't think it's quite radius shape - the bottom "horn" looks weedier than my guitars i think. and where the neck joins the body on the underside - is that right?

the schecter guitar i have, ian, is called a gryphon. it's based on the c-1, but it was limited edition to some certain chain of music stores. i don't know if it was cut down or of similar spec. i really like it though. it was strange getting used to the thicker body (probably comparable to an ibanez RG) after my radius guitars, but it's definitely a nice guitar. the neck is different too. it's different in some way. i don't have them out of their cases at the moment since i just got back to uni.

You're right. The body isn't exactly the same. But it has some similarities that I like. I really dig the color actually. Alot. If I could get rid of that clear pick cover, I'd want to buy it. And if the price doesn't go up too much, it'd definietly be a good deal. Either way, I won't be buying it. 'Cause I don't have the money. In the summer I'll definitely be buying another guitar.

After another look, I hate how the pickups looks and sit out of the guitar.

I saw an '88 blue burst radius on ebay the other day. And with only 14 hours left it was only at 100 dollars. It was mint too. I checked a little later and it was near 300. I wanted that guitar so bad. I just didn't have the money. Oh, and the guy absolutely refused to sell out of the US. I hate people like that.

I may have posted this already, but I don't care. Do yourself a favor and check www.justinking.com out and watch the streaming videos of him playing. "Knock on wood" is the instrumental that will probably impress you. He's known for being a skilled guitarist, but he's actually got a great voice (imo) and that other video "change" is pretty damn awesome. It takes 3 clicks and only a couple minutes of your time, so give it a chance if you haven't already.

I'm still betting that I posted this already...who knows maybe on the previous page, but I've been listening to this guy all day and I love it.
