I'm not much of a drum expert, but I think one of the greatest drum parts I have heard is in Aenima by tool...about mid way through the song.
Anyone that knows this song should know what I am talking about.

It might be because James Hetfield is now sober. Some artists have written/composed amazing stuff when they're drunk or high.

Well James was sober for the Black Album and the three ones(Load, Re-Load and that other one) that all were decent. The Black Album kills all albums,
from all artists! You die now!

I really don't think James was sober during that part of his life. He has, probably, only been sober for a couple years, really.

Puppetz is a great album. But even James says the Black Album is there best. Then he said that St. Anger was their best. Stupid alcohol! WHY MUST YOUR
AFTER EFFECTS ONLY BE TEMPORARY!

I'm with Reivax, Puppets is where it's at in Metallica land. I mean seriously, you can't not appreciate Battery, Orion, Master of
Puppets, Sanitarium, Leper Messiah...
Ok, better stop before I say every song on the album.

I just got one of those gizmos that helps you wind strings... one of those plastic "cranks"... It is so much better than doing it by hand!
If anyone doesn't have one I strongly reccomend it. It has already changed my life.

I had one, but lost it. It was great, for sure. I don't change my strings enough for it to be that much of a pain to not have one, though.

Click on the Steve Vai song. It's very impressive. It may take a minute to load, but I found after the first one loaded, I could watch the other
ones lickity split. The video quality blows, but the audio is great.

Malmsteed is a bum. I've never seen anyone come even close to playing as fast as him, but it gets old...fast. He also needs to get rid of the
80's look.
The funny thing is that is, in my opinion, just an average song for Satriani. You should check out more of his stuff if you liked it.
I think he was advertising his new JS1200 in that video.

Hearing both Vai and Satriani play for the very first time, I am in shock! That was incredible.

Another Radius, Bart?
I'm pretty sure the js1200 is basically the same as the js1000..but it's red. I was looking on the Ibanez website for a minute, and I
couldn't find any differences betweent the two of them.

I went to buy it today, actually. But no place in the mall I was at had it in. So I bought the South Park season1 dvd, instead. I am doing inventory
at another mall tomorrow. I will check there to see if they have it. I feel like a fool for not buying it yet...

Is that a new G3 DVD? I have G3 Live in Concert, but I thought that Eric Johnson said he didn't want to do it again after that concert.

Ya, the new DVD came out about a month ago. The one with Eric Johnson is pretty old.
It really shouldn't be too hard to find, Chris. I always see the older one in stores, and the new one is still new enough that stores will still
ordering them whenever they sell out.
G3, btw, is a tour that Joe Satriani started a number of years ago. It basically means 3 guitarists. He and his former student, Steve Vai, always make
up for 2 of the guitars and every year they find another guitar-god to make up the third. The most recent tour had Yngwie Malmsteen and the previous
year had John Petrucci (dream theatre).
If I were you, I would check out the Joe Satriani live in San Fransisco DVD. I think there are alot more songs. I actually have that on VHS and DVD.
If you want, and I still remember, you can have the VHS copy. It's no use to me.

Live in San Fran is incredible. My friend has the DVD and I used to watch it every time I went to his place (and we'd always watch G3 when he
came to mine). Such a great concert.

I just watched the whole live in san fransisco DVD 2 nights ago. It never gets old. I was lucky enough to see him on that tour a few months prior to
that recording. He played the exact set list to a tee. The only slight difference is on the DVD Joe plays the intro to "turkey man" before
and near the end of "rubina. Nothing will top that concert.
Oh, and I just checked at the mall I was working at, and the only place that hade the new G3 dvd is Music World, but it was 7 dollars more than at
HMV. And it's probably even cheaper at future shop. I guess I will have to wait. There is only 3 songs by Vai, though. I don't understand
that. The other two guys, from what I remember, have 5 songs each. And then there is the 3 song Jam.
