New CDs

this thread is for any new cds that you get and would like to discuss. but try to keep it to cd's that have been released recently... i know we all love our oldies, 80's and classic rock, but let's try to keep it NEW.

so for me: i just got the new Incubus cd today "A Crow Left Of The Murder", and after listening to it 4 times through completely, i can now say that it is absolutely incredable! it is a bit more like "Science", than their other 2 recent(ish) albums, but you can definatley tell that they are retaining a bit of thier "Moring Veiw" sound. it sounds much more loose and fun than any of thier previous albums, but they do have a hard edge in some of the songs, and some very political lyrics, especially in the song "Made For TV Movie" all about the stupidity of war.

when i first listened to the whole thing through, i was like "ok, this is... different..." but now it absolutely rocks my world!!!!!!!

and i was going to get the new lostprophets cd today, but my friend got the last copy like an hour before i got to the record store *shakes fist* damn him, i want it so badly!!!!!

oh well, ill pick it up tommorow.

i was thinking about not suggesting on this thread, considering my musical tastes are nowhere close to the other posters on this board. then i thought, "let them see what i fill my head with". here's something i suggest you all pick up.

st. germain - "tourist"

it's an upbeat album designed for driving, walking, bike riding, basically whatever you do. it's a perfect soundtrack for an ordinary day.

[edit: for clarity]

[Edited on 4-2-04 by mr. dobalina]

Amid the chaos of that day, when all I could hear was the thunder of gunshots, and all I could smell was the violence in the air, I look back and am amazed that my thoughts were so clear and true, that three words went through my mind endlessly, repeating themselves like a broken record: you're so cool, you're so cool, you're so cool. And sometimes Clarence asks me what I would have done if he had died, if that bullet had been two inches more to the left. To this, I always smile, as if I'm not going to satisfy him with a response. But I always do. I tell him of how I would want to die, but that the anguish and the want of death would fade like the stars at dawn, and that things would be much as they are now. Perhaps. Except maybe I wouldn't have named our son Elvis.

New Incubus Album

I've got it. Took me a while to get into it. Once again it sounds completly different from all their other albums, but I reckon this is a step in the right direction.

Meglomaniac, Pistola, talk shows on mute, Beware Criminal !, Zee Deveel, Made for tv movie are my fav tracks

I'm sure I'll like the rest later , apart from "priceless", - thats utter wank.

Sunrise Over Sea by John Butler Trio is an amazing album which I highly recommend to all, especially if you're a fan of slide guitar or the deep sound of a double bass.

umm, hard rock mostly... Livid (ish) sorta. but they have a DJ, and two guitarists. a few songs are a lot more "emo" though.

I just thought sarcasmic-challenged sounded better. Since, as far as I know, there is no word "sarcasmic", I found it a bit more humorous to use it. Pardon me and my sense of humor (this is by no means the extent of my humer mind you), apparently there is a law that says "Thou shalt not find any humor in jokes from Adidas unless thou art from the south."

Jay Z - The Black Album.

Maybe not his best album to date but it surely contains some of his best, most introspective rhymes. Some of the beats are aces too. I highly recommend it if you like rap. I'd say it's a fine way for him to leave the rap-game.

brand new's "deja entendu" is a cool album. i think they have some awsome vocals. i think it might have come out a few months ago, but it is some good stuff. i like the song "the quiet things that no one ever knows." check it out.
