The Judicial Point System

I have come up with a new AND IMPROVED way of counting our posts. Instead of crediting members 1 point for each post. Why not give them varrying points?

I.E- If a user makes a normal post- 5 points.
-A user posts a poll- 10 points
-A user creates a thread- 15 points
-Another user posts in this thread-5 points per post.

Not only will this give DeZy an astronomical amount of points, it will also give people a reason to post better, more entertaining threads. As the more people that post in their thread, the more points they get.

If someone is being bad, they could easily get points deducted. You could also having emoticon or picture posting privlages when you get to a certain amount of posts.

Now, I'm happy with the same old way. But if Bart is up to doing this, and everyone likes this idea.. Maybe we should change it. Then again, "If it aint broke, don't fix it."

This is an interesting idea, but I'm sure such drastic changes wont happen.

Ohohoho if i had about a week for the coding, a lot of patience, the desire to actually do this and an understanding of what this is all about (plus no other work to do or games to play) then i might consider it. sorry PIS but this would be a huge change.

i just read it again and i take all that back. it wouldn't be hard at all. but it'd still take some time and i'm not sure it would be beneficial.

You forgot to mention minus 100 points for every spam post and minus 50 points for every one word post.

No!

(ha I'm just kidding.)

That would get very confusing, your points would be going up and down every second.

Good idea in theory, but who really gives a crap about post count anyways?

It'd just encourage people to make tarded threads and polls.

I'd say a few people, considering the various times people have mentioned their post counts and how they want them higher, etc.

Although I do agree, it could turn into polls like "what's your favourite colour?" or "how many socks do you own?". And threads could turn out even worse.

Meh, in the end I wouldn't care either way, so do whatever you want, I won't be chucking a hissy fit if it's something I don't like.

if someone is spamming too much, one of the mods should change their title from 'Recognised Member', or 'Senior Member' [whatever the case may be] to something like 'I Love Spam!' or 'Ich bin Ein Spamenhiemer', or something more creative along similar lines.

what we need is scarlet letter.

Amid the chaos of that day, when all I could hear was the thunder of gunshots, and all I could smell was the violence in the air, I look back and am amazed that my thoughts were so clear and true, that three words went through my mind endlessly, repeating themselves like a broken record: you're so cool, you're so cool, you're so cool. And sometimes Clarence asks me what I would have done if he had died, if that bullet had been two inches more to the left. To this, I always smile, as if I'm not going to satisfy him with a response. But I always do. I tell him of how I would want to die, but that the anguish and the want of death would fade like the stars at dawn, and that things would be much as they are now. Perhaps. Except maybe I wouldn't have named our son Elvis.

we could use the "spam tags" much like a bad parent uses "time outs".

only temporary, but effective and for all to see.

to add a little insult to injury, you could always change their avatar picture to a picture of a tin of spam.

all of the above suggestion are all of course plans that would only be implemented on long-time or repetitive offenders. someone who spams shouldn't be chastised for their sins, 'cause everybody spams. but people who's posts are incongruent, disjointed ramblings on a regular basis should be given a little reminder that the powers that be are watching.

So if I gave you a perfectly good Santa Cruz Vp-Free, free of cost. You'd smash it 'till it was broken? That's bloody disgusting.

I like the spam grounding idea. It's clever. On my wrestling forums they have all kinds of custom status'. Like 'Rajah's Bitch' and 'WE's Nazi Fuher'. It's a very fucked up forum.

try it and find out. maybe it does nothing, who knows - all depends on whether or not "tremendous" has fiddled with it.
