Tattoos

Just wondering who's got tatoos....it's so strange cause they have totally become an accepted thing nowadays. I have 2, a treble clef on my back and a Celtic knot on my hip....

Everyone else???

The night's as hot as hell. It's a lousy room in a lousy part of a lousy town - I'm staring at a goddess. She's telling me she wants me. I'm not going to waste one more minute wondering how I've gotten this lucky. She smells like angels ought to smell, the perfect woman... the Goddess. Goldie. She says her name is Goldie.

As long as you're smart about getting a tattoo, I don't see what you would ever regret. Meaning, don't get someone's name, and do get something that actually means something to you.

Even if in ten years, you regret getting a particular tattoo, by that point you'd be so used to it, who really gives a shit? To me, it would be a symbol of something that meant a great deal to me at a certain point in my life, so even if it looks like ass when I get older, I should have no reason to feel regret.

I don't have a tattoo yet, but I intend to get some one day. I have told this story to some people before, but I plan on getting a matching tattoo with a friend of mine. He and I want to get a black and white tattoo of calvin and hobbes riding in their wagon. That image has been a symbol of our friendship for 16 years. He would get Calvin colored in, and I would get Hobbes colored in....You can guess why. We haven't done this yet because I haven't had a chance to see him for a while because he lives across the country. He should be visiting this summer.

Sure, this may seem like a lame idea, but I like the idea of getting symbols of people and things that mean a great deal to me. I was going to get a guitar tattoo last summer, but I chickened out in fear that it wouldn't look as good as I wanted.

I have 3. All are in black and grey. The Phoenix in my avatar on the inside of my right wrist.

The nautilis half in my avatar on the inside of my right bicep.

The last is a tree on the outside of my right bicep curling around to my tricep.

All have meaning to me and in general, none of which I am prepared to go into on a public forum.

I may also get a half sleeve on my upper left arm. I've been thinking of getting something involving a bird of paradise flower and some sort of badass pirate ship with a story behind it.

I can't wait until I'm old and wrinkly and my tattoos look all fucked up. I love looking at old bikers where you can't tell what the fuck they used to have tattoos of cause now they're just blobs of colour. It's gonna be amazing.

Now that's the way I think everyone should look at it.

You're tattoo's sound pretty sweet, too.

My friend asked me to design a tattoo for him. I got a basic design done and now I have to hear back from him to know what he things about it. Hopefully he'll like it. It's pretty basic right now, but I just wanted to see if he likes the direction I'm heading.

Dagger, you really like transformers, don't you?

LOL Yeah I do.. Have a huge collection of 'em too. When I'm a huge rock star I want to buy the cars the original toys were based on and get them painted up like the toys. It'd be so cool to drive around in a truck that looked like Optimus Prime!

Cool. I made a cartoon thread some time ago. You should check it out. It's probably called "cartoons".

Edit: It's on page 9, btw. It doesn't seem as grand as I remember it...it's only 2 pages.

Becareful...tats are addicting. I have one and I'm itching to get more.

And Jenn...the top of your foot hurts like a bitch. A friend of mine, who has awesome pain tolerance, got one there and she nearly broke my hand.

It's pretty lame to steal a tattoo from someone else. The whole point of a tattoo is that it is unique. Even if you like someone else's tattoo, use it for inspiration for your own, not a template.
