Ah, i see. yeah that's why i asked it that way, so i wouldnt give anything away. i can see why you didn't like it.
i have also never heard of chopper. but office space is brilliant. it's basically about a bunch of guys who are tired of their jobs in cubicals
with a bitch of a boss (though he's a very funny guy). i wont say anymore, cause i dont want to give anything away, but it is hillarious.

Chopper is about an australian criminal, Mark Brandon "Chopper" Reed. Made most famous for having his own ears cut off so he would be
removed from the prison block he was in (due to the fact that guys wanted him dead).
The film isn't the best portrayal of his life, if you really want to learn about him as a person (this is to Chris) you're better off
reading his books. But the movie is good for a laugh. I mean that in the good way, not that the film is crap and you'll laugh at it, but
it's genuinely funny.

Donnie Darko was the biggest pile of steaming dog shit. So packed full of meaningless symbolism (and atrcocious acting) it's a film for pseudo
intellectuals who think by claiming it as one of their favourite movies makes them some kind of film connoisseur.
Sin City is a good film but it struggles to keep up a breakneck pace throughout the whole 2 and a half hours. Gets boring in the middle but picks up
towards the end. Technically flawless, though. Looks beautiful.

To anyone who wants to see a true masterpiece of direction watch Irreversible. It's amazing (subject matter is graphioc, but it's still an
incredibly well thought out film).

Drew Barrymore, but then she's always a bit of a joke. Gyllenhaal was out of his depth, one of the most wooden actors the i've had the
displeasure to watch on screen. He was casted well in The Day After Tomorrow, but that's only because anyone only ever said about 5 lines in
that film. Noah Wyle is a good actor (granted i've only seen him in ER) but even he was vanilla.
Patrick Swayze was pretty good, though.
Went to see Batman Begins tonight, thought it was pretty damn good! Shame the last two were so lame

The trailers for The Island look pretty good, looks like one worth seeing.
Got around to seeing Batman Begins, I thought it was really quite good. Makes you regret that the last two were so pants.

Yeah, Begins is great. Plus it isn't just a prequel, apparantly they're basically forgetting the first four movies ever existed (i.e. the
next film will have the Joker in it). The Island confuses me, I don't understand why it's called The Island, guess I'd better go see
it and find out.

I just watched it too, actually. We went to the drive in and saw that and Fantastic 4. I love going to a movie that I know nothing about and have
never even heard of or seen a commercial, and that's what it was like with The Island. Personally I think that's a huge reason why I liked
it so much. Everything was a surprise to me (even though the movie was a bit predictable at times). It was a very fun movie that is most definitely
worth the watch.
Fantastic 4 sucked!!!!!! One of the worst movies I've seen in a while. Honestly if it weren't for the eye candy (alba) I would have
realized even more how much it sucked. What a waste of time that was. Nothing was good about it. I disliked everything about it.
Batman kicked ass, though. A totally wicked movie. No reason to elaborate, 'cause you all know that.

Except there was one major plot hole in Batman.
***********SPOILER*****************
if that machine vaporized all water, every person near it would be vaporized too. so really that whole thing could never happen.

It was damn good though.

It pressurised (is English z or s?) the water (or was it depressurised?). Although I guess your logic still stands, the people should have exploded or
something.

***********SPOILER (in answer to sin)*****************
you're right, it depressurized the water. thus turning it into poisonous water vaper. and people totally should have exploded, but i guess if
that happened the original movies would never have happened, because everyone in gotham city would be dead. or the bad guys would have killed
themselves before they even got the chance to put their plan into action.

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow was a green screen movie as well, and it came up really well in my opinion (I also really enjoyed the lighting
in Sky Captain).

From the screen to your stereo...
I also really liked Donnie Darko. I'm indifferent about Jake Gyllenhaal but I did think he conveyed a good sense of awkwardness with the
character of Donnie.
Drew Barrymore conveyed a character who is exhausted, and bored with a job she truly loves but is forced to hate. Because of all the rules and
concerns, I got the impression that her character was struggling to keep the content of her classes relevant and refined. I think she says at some
point "We're losing these kids". This displays her sense of fear for the younger generation, and the direction the education system
is taking; pollitical correctness.
Other movies I really liked:
The Salton Sea (don't be turned off by Val Kilmer) The Jacket The Recruit Eye See You (unexpectedly good) The Thing (John Carpenter's version) Mission Impossible
The Manchurian Candidate (both the original and remake) The Grudge
The Ring
28 Days Later
Cabin Fever
12 Monkeys (Brad Pitt is excellent in this one) What Lies Beneath
Brazil (wow...great symbolism) Behind Enemy Lines
Enemy At The Gates
Saving Private Ryan
Equilibrium
Ong Bak
Memento
The Bourne Identity (as usual the book was better though) Saw
Casablanca
Meet The Parents
Starsky & Hutch
Sin City
Strangers On A Train
Psycho
Frenzy
Hype (a documentary on the rise and fall of grunge) XXX: State Of The Union (just kidding )
Ghostbusters
Ghostbusters 2
Airplane!
Top Secret
So bad they're good Silver Streak (you really have to see this movie, it stars Gene Wilder [the original Willy Wonka] and in one scene he actually tries to
disguise himself as a black man using shoe polish all over his face and hands...it's clearly the worst disguise since hiding under a cardboard
box and/or shrub and moving when someone isn't looking)
I'm a fan of the Friday the 13th series, but after part II they're just hilarious. Some inventive killings are to be found
throughout the series though.
I'm also a fan of George A. Romero's zombie films. Day Of The Dead is the worst by far, but I do like how they all have social
undertones. In the remake of Night Of The Living Dead I found they made the social commentary a bit too obvious. Dawn Of The Dead (the
remake) was a great update though. I'm looking forward to seeing Land Of The Dead.

Yeah, the Jacket is pretty much the greatest movie ever. Same with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
The night's as hot as hell. It's a lousy room in a lousy part of a lousy town - I'm staring at a goddess. She's telling me she
wants me. I'm not going to waste one more minute wondering how I've gotten this lucky. She smells like angels ought to smell, the perfect
woman... the Goddess. Goldie. She says her name is Goldie.
