At school in an assembly they showed little snipets of 'Requiem for a Dream.' ... it seems like a good movie but scary at times.

It's more harrowing than scary.
Did they show it to you as part of a drugs awareness scheme or something?

Oh my god "Requiem for a Dream" was creepy. It was gross when they amputated that dude's arm *shudder*.
The night's as hot as hell. It's a lousy room in a lousy part of a lousy town - I'm staring at a goddess. She's telling me she
wants me. I'm not going to waste one more minute wondering how I've gotten this lucky. She smells like angels ought to smell, the perfect
woman... the Goddess. Goldie. She says her name is Goldie.

anyway, i just saw "The House of Sand and Fog". it was... wow. it starts off pretty slow, a bit confusing, but then it gets really, really
intense. and i mean really intense. it was moving. go see it, but be prepared, it is no light comedy.

you mean to tell me that there is someone else on this board that's seen the movie "audition"??????? that's f'n
paranormal, i thought i was the only one. me rikey.
true romance, spirited away, donnie darko, leon the professional, citizen kane, dr. strangelove, boogie nights, amelie, run lola run, punch drunk
love, LOST IN TRANSLATION [watch it, i command you], princess mononoke, the cooler, rushmore, bottle rocket, yeah right!, secretary, memento, usual
suspects, magnolia, very bad things, treed murray, twelve angry men...........
i'm tired........ that should keep you guys busy for a while though.
Amid the chaos of that day, when all I could hear was the thunder of gunshots, and all I could smell was the violence in the air, I look back and am
amazed that my thoughts were so clear and true, that three words went through my mind endlessly, repeating themselves like a broken record:
you're so cool, you're so cool, you're so cool. And sometimes Clarence asks me what I would have done if he had died, if that bullet
had been two inches more to the left. To this, I always smile, as if I'm not going to satisfy him with a response. But I always do. I tell him
of how I would want to die, but that the anguish and the want of death would fade like the stars at dawn, and that things would be much as they are
now. Perhaps. Except maybe I wouldn't have named our son Elvis.

i am currently boycotting the last samurai.
i saw braveheart, this means i dont have to waste my time watching tom cruise galavanting across beautiful pastoral imagery, skillfully raping
japanese culture.
i think hollywood should take a look at what it's produced within itself. there's a scene in the movie "a river runs through
it", which is about two brothers who act as if polar opposites.
the most profound scene of the movie is where the father is teaching the two sons how to write effectively.
the father asks both boys to write a paper and to keep it as brief and concise as possible.
after both boys finish their thesis/dissertation, the father tells them to count the words, and cut it in half.
expressing the importance of brevity.
this is what hollywood needs to start doing. when will they notice that we dont want to see an epic any more? there will only ever be one
braveheart, one forrest gump, and well........ conversely, one synchratic lord of the rings.
there's a reason that the general public hasn't seen over three-quarters of the movies nominated at all of the awards shows. production
companies are the pimps of entertainment.
