Experimentation
Has anyone else noticed some of the new stuff the Livid have been doing in their songs? It has been mentioned that "At The Seems" is in
5/8 during the verses, but another one of their new songs "The Tide" (I think) is in 6/8, which is unusual for them. And Justin is
screaming too... Anyway, I personally think it's working nicely. A nice variety.

I don't know a thing about time signatures (not a fucking clue), so I can't really comment on that. But it sounds interesting...
The screaming is great, though. I've heard them play "the tide" probably 5 times now and I find the screaming is getting alot more
intense every time I hear it. I'm liking it.
One thing i have noticed (not experimentation), is that "test run" is really fucking heavy. More so than any other song. It sounds
different than other songs. I think it has alot to do with the extra bass string.

Yes. From what I could tell there is a lot of low B string in that tune. While not being experimentation per se, it is somewhat of a different sound
relative to some the majority of their stuff. It is a very "metal" riff.

As far as I could see, he really reams on the open B during the intro. I couldn't tell the first time I heard it, but the next two times I could
really feel it.
Maybe someone can give me an example of time signatures? I'd really like to understand it.

Justin and Adam have said to me a couple times that they are trying to bring back some older songs from Fear of Fading. Once Rob learns the bass
lines, I guess. So I wouldn't worry about the older songs fading away.

yup, you definitely should. do you know any music theory? even as basic as quarter notes, 8th notes etc? you gotta know bars... (maybe you call them
measures over there). a time signature just says how long each measure is. 4/4 means four quarter notes per measure. 5/8 means five 8th notes per
measure. that's pretty much all it is.

I was a band geek, so I had to learn all that
How do you communicate those emotions that are so intense that no physical expression or series of words can even scratch the surface?

I am forced to sit through 20 minutes of music theory every morning. It drives me nuts. Altough, tomorrow I get to play the drums for 3 hours and 45
minutes with some boys from another school. Should be fun. They had better be hot...or else....

It's all gibberish to me. None of that made sense. haha. It's definitely time to learn some of that shit. This would explain my awful
power tabbing abilities, Bart. I can't stress enough how little I actually know about theory.

Someone NEEDS to tutor me in Music Theory...I have my final coming up soon and I never paid any attention...
I don't even think I can come up with a pentatonic scale or something...
I did however understand the time signature part, seeing as how I use that all the time for singing..
Chris..let me try and explain it.
Take for example the time signature 4/4
This means that there are 4 beats per bar, and that the quarter note gets the beat.
Unless you can hear it..it's kinda hard to explain,like..if you were infront of me, I'd show you the differences between time signatures
by tapping something, or hitting a table haha..
